Showdown between Georgia Tech and Ole Miss for M.L. King’s Joel Kight
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
When M.L. King running back/defensive back Joel Kight heads to Ole Miss on Friday for an official visit, he won’t be traveling alone.
He’ll be accompanied by older brother Kelvin Kight, a Florida graduate and former receiver for the New England Patriots.
“I actually went with Joel on his visit to Oklahoma State and am going with him to Ole Miss,” Kight said. “Basically, what I tell him is this is the same thing I went through.
“It’s about where you feel the most comfortable. All the players are good and you’ll have to compete no matter where you go.”
Georgia Tech fans will have an interest in the Kights’ visit to Ole Miss.
Joel Kight has narrowed his choices to Tech, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. Boston College is considered a longshot to sign him on Feb. 4.
Kight is being recruited by the Jackets as an athlete.

Didn’t this kid say he wanted to play in the SEC in another article? Tech boosters better pony up if they want him bad enough.

If Joel Kight picks Ole Miss over GT, that’s ok, because he is not really the type of player CPJ wants in his program anway. In other words he’s not a Tech Man!

Isn’t “Tech Man” a misnomer anyway?

how is joel kight not a tech man when I know for a fact (classmate) that he takes, and makes good grades in AP courses and one of the hardest workers on and off the field I know…if CPJ doesnt want this kid then he doesnt know talent and isnt a good judge of character at all…

king,
Obviously CPJ wants this kid or he wouldn’t have offered. That’s a pretty dumb@$$ statement you made about CPJ, but it pales next to the dumb@$$ statement that White-n-Gold made. Why don’t you just trust the coaches to offer the kids that they feel will fit in our program best? Geesh! All of you experts need to get a freakin’ clue and let the coaching staff do their jobs!
Joel, Where ever you go, Good Luck.

I saw the article/blog referrencing Mr. Kigth’s desire to play in the SEC.
I say good for him, and good luck. HOWEVER, it will be a decision he’ll regret.
That’s fine he wants to play for the NUTT. But when the Rebels play the Jackets in 2010 it’ll be Houston’s boys that will be on the losing end of this contest. And the loss in 2010 will not be the sole reason Kight will regret his decision. No, Mr. Kight will regret his decision of heading to Oxford, MS over GA Tech after he realizes how “green the grass is at Tech” from watching watch Paul Johnson is doing with the football program.
Simple fact people…..PJ is looking for TEAM players not individuals!

IMO regarding Kight, You are so right? Why wouldn’t that kid want to go to Ole Miss when he could have the pleasure of stepping over homeless people and being serenaded by gun fire every night??I will bet what I have that Ole Miss will win a conference championship before you LOSERS do!I am stunned how much a fortuitous win over your in state “rival” can lead you all to such delusions of grandeur. If Freud was still around, he would have a field day with you LOSERS!!
