Blessed Trinity OL surprised with new offer

No sooner had Blessed Trinity lineman Matt Crisafi returned Sunday from his official visit to Samford, when the phone rang. It was Furman defensive line coach Roberto Pinilla, offering him a scholarship without even an official visit there.

Now the quandary: Samford had just catapulted itself to the top of Crisafi’s consideration by impressing him so in 48 hours. Then again, Furman has such notoriety, The Georgia 150 player pointed out.

“I’ve got to sit down and talk with my family,” said Crisafi, who further complicated things by changing plans this week to visit William & Mary, instead of Middle Tennessee State, before Gardner-Webb on Jan. 23. “This whole process has been not a game, but kind of like fitting together pieces of a puzzle.”
