He, like e’one else at Lowndes, must be accountable for the horrible incident at Grayson during the state h/s playoffs. Lowndes is a thug program, pure and simple. No reason to believe that he’s not just like the rest of ‘em. Anybody who saw that game or heard about it later knows what I’m talkin’ about.

As for Greg Reid, I would love to see him at UGA. He can flat out play. I know everyone is talking about him as a CB, but he can certainly play both sides and could be great as a return man. Know if we can get him AND Branden Smith, maybe even WM will look good as a DC.

Lowndes is a THUG program - the film does not lie! I watched one of Lowndes players push a coach from Grayson(on film) and also make a throat slash gesture not once but twice to a Northside coach (on film). Lowndes team is out of control and Greg Reid is the ring leader of all of this. He is a GANGSTA! Why would anyone want such a punk - he is a cancer. Great talent but a terrible attitude. He will wind up in a JUCO school and mark my words - he will quit or will get into enough trouble to be thrown out of school. He single handedly almost ruined Randy McPherson. He was kicked off the team and let back on and then the cancer spread amongst his teammates. Good luck Mr. Reid - I hope you can turn your life around and make something of yourself.

Everyone likes to jump on a winner…ex. UGA rank #1, GT winning season, Bama rank #1 and in Sugar, Lowndes with all its 4 State titles. Gators winning ways etc…but just as soon as they lose one game the wantabe’s start jumping on with their thrash talk, thugs and what ever. All of these teams are great and have great programs. When your program has a record as good as these it will speak for itself.

As for red, yellow ,black and white…well I believe in the good book (BIBLE) and I love you all.God don’t make no trash. We make our own.

As for Reid—I wish the young man the Best and may his life be a positive for others.

I have no skin in this game so let me be blunt…For those of you who don’t know him, Greg’s a good kid.

Frankly, there are a lot of high school athletes who commit early and then begin to get “buyers remorse” and start to rethink their options. It doesn’t mean they won’t go back to their original school or choose a new one, it just means they need to rethink their options as to what they feel most comfortable with based on their circumstances; sometimes things change.

Frankly, sometimes players have friends who get offered to a school that hadn’t been offered before and they decide they want to continue playing with them, there may be a change in a family status, like a medical condition that will dictate staying closer to home, a change in position coaches that recruited them; there are a lot of reasons these young men may opt to change their minds.

Many of the bloggers have made negative comments about an unfortunate event that took place at one of the high school games that took place in which Greg participated in, as well as some of his teammates that will also be moving on to college next year. Unless you were at the game, or saw tapes of it, then you have no room to speak of the incident because you didn’t see everything that led to the incident.

I don’t condone those types of activities and I can assure you that players on both teams were reprimanded, but in all competitive athletic events, especially those where hormones are involved,there is tension and a often times skirmishes, even on the professional level. Sometimes retaliation is the only thing that is caught and penalized…cut the guy some slack. He’s still in High School.

Greg should be commended for opening up his recruitment now, rather than waiting later in the cycle, so that Florida can start focusing on other corner prospects in the event Greg decides to pursue another choice to play for. Had Greg waited until signing day, then Florida could have been left short-handed.

This way, he has maturely positioned himself to offer Florida some options in case he changes his mind as well as the other Universities the ability the option of knowing he is amenable to considering them for him playing for them instead of Florida.

Funny thing is that both Braden Smith and Greg Reid are highly sought after prep players. On the AJC though I have read much, much more about Smith than Reid- only because Smith is yet to make a commitment to a school. Now that Reid has apparently opened up his options concerning the college he will attend I suppose the AJC and dumb bloggers will get all hyped up about how the Dawgs MUST sign him.

I live in NC and do not know the details of the so-called “Grayson Game incident.” But I do know what the young man said aobut whether he would consider UGA if they offered again. He said, “I don’t know about that, I can’t say. It’s too hard to say right now if I would consider UGA.”

That’s his perogative. It’s his life. He should do what he thinks is best for him. As for me, as a Dawg fan for over 50 years, if he is not excited about playing for us, I don’t want him. Give me a three star player who loves UGA and wants to be a Dawg everytime.

Lastly, folks like Bravesfan79 are an embarrassment to us Dawg fans just like the guy calling himself “Lou” on this blog is an embarassment to Fla. fans. Racism and bigotry (in any form) have no place in this world, much less on this blog.

Greg Reid is part of the lowndes county program and yes that means guilty by association. that coach should have been fired after the grayson game, but that was not the first time that has happened. LHS is a disgrace to ga. high school football. Heh what do expect from the armpit of ga. mr reid go to ugay you will fit in perfectly with all the other cell mates, i mean teammates in clarke county, which is the other armpit of ga.

When did these kids have the opportunity to watch football as a kid? Opimist football is played during that time. I know that Ga fans are rabid about their football, but you guys need to get a life. Most adults move on to much more complex things, while others hang on to local high school athletic programs. i’ve been a part of high school athletics for over 25 years as a coach an Assistant AD. This will break most of your hearts. Academics is not a priority with most of your local friday nite stars. They report to class, adjust their seats, assume the position an fall asleep. I call it ready - set - sleep. These poor kids are worn out from entertaining you on friday nite. Ask some of these future signees who took the SAT - ACT for them? Watch the Huge grin on their young faces. To stay on top, you have to CHEAT. Valdosta High wrote the master plan for cheating, someone at Lowndes got hold of it an they are kings of the ant pile now. Stop abusing the kids you say you love like sons. Its okay to struggle, as long as you learn the lessons that are taught along the way. FOOTBALL is not LIFE.

I would like to know when everyone in Northern Georgia, Atlanta and points beyond became such experts on the Lowndes High School athletics department and the school system as a whole. I read that Coach McPherson should be fired and a bunch of other nonsense on this blog. Bottom line is that 1)There was a nasty brawl in the LHS vs Grayson game. 2)Grayson still won that game. 3)Greg Reid will get an opportunity to play at a level that few ever do. His play helped the Vikings get where they were and currently are.

Greg Reid has some skeletons in his closet and most everyone that attends the Lowndes games knows that. What can we do? What can anyone on this blog do to him? Not a thing. I think every Lowndes High graduate like myself would rather have the school held in a brighter light than to be considered a thug program. I remember LHS’s first trip to the dome to play Brookwood, 10 years back, we were nobodys. The program has been one of the leading programs in the country the past 4 -5 years running. I hope that all of our playmakers are not gone, and I, as a fan, hope that the winning tradition continues.

As for those that believe Lowndes is a thug program, who cares. The football team and the school are completely different. Lowndes has been considered “plowboys” from the country and outcasts as long as I can remember. I think it is time that we relish that trait and enjoy it when people think of us different.
Personally, I believe that the majority of Lowndes players condone the fighting that happened in Grayson. They should be ashamed of it. I am pretty embarressed by it, so I haven’t watched it on YouTube. I don’t have to. I know we were wrong. None the less, I say continue on with the smear campaign you are giving Lowndes plenty of bulletin board material to build a better program with. Now, there have been stories and rumors that coach McPherson knows what Greg has been up to and is doing what he can to correct that. I hope that is true. You all should for the sake of another human being. I agree with Ricky Bobby. We all know it is right and Lowndes adopted the plan from Wright Bazemore and are picking and teaching the players as early as they can. Don’t fault them on being business models. You might as well hurry up and follow the leaders.

Problem child or not. That kid Reid is extremely talented. I saw him a few minutes ago returning a kick in the Armor-All All Star game. We all have issues, an I’m sure he has his, but he deserves a chance to right his ship an move on to bigger an better things. Let the GHSAA deal with Lowndes High. If you can’t beat their behinds, DO NOT SCHEDULE THEM. I bet the powers to be at VALDOSTA HIGH is just waiting for the Vikings to be disbanned so they can get their turn to dominate again.

HATE TO BURST EVERYONE’S BUBBLE ON REID, BUT THERE IS A STRONG LIKELIHOOD THAT “Greg Reid” GOES TO Miami-Dade county and plays with former teammate at Lowndes (Darriet Perry) at FIU.

Florida International is aggressively recruiting 4 star elite kids all over the USA and several are looking to pull the trigger and get FIU into the primetime as a BCS buster.

**This is news coming out of the practice sessions in Orlando from last week. Our OOC schedule is loaded over the next few years with BCS powers and many of these elite prospects can play right away against top competition and get a first rate education at a public university which is the anchor school for a 4 million plus metro area population.

National Titles are great, but education comes first and the NFL could care less where you play college ball. They find you if you have the skills…

Foodman ….,,,,????!!!!!! here are all the punctuations you need put them where they need to be.Since this seems to be a problem for you, and it’s bothering you correct it SUCKER!!!!I was just typing ,but trust me I do know how and where to put punctuations. Thank you
