Washington WR Antonio Goodwin has early UGA offer

Booker T. Washington junior wide receiver Antonio Goodwin’s lone scholarship offer happens to be from one of his four front-runners.

“My favorites are Georgia, Clemson, Florida State and Florida,” said the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Goodwin, who holds his only offer from the Bulldogs.

“I like Georgia. I really like their football program.”

Goodwin is being courted by Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU and Oregon. Goodwin played this past season at Washington with defensive back Branden Smith, who is coveted by UGA.

He recently received an invitation to attend junior day at Tech on Jan. 31.

If the Jackets offer Goodwin, they’ll need to convince him he’ll have a chance to be a playmaker in coach Paul Johnson’s triple-option offense.

“Wherever I go, I want to get the ball,” Goodwin said.
