Stone Mountain linebacker tandem considers college options

The linebacker crew at Stone Mountain will have a huge void to fill next season, as Milton Meeks and Robert Nelson graduate. The two combined for more than 600 tackles and nearly 40 sacks in their careers for the Pirates.

Nelson, a four-year starter, finished with 383 tackles and 24 sacks, and has a 3.4 grade point average. He’s leaning toward South Carolina, but claims to have offers from nearly every SEC and ACC school.

Meeks, a three-year starter with a 3.0 GPA, had 240 tackles and 15 sacks. He has offers from Memphis, West Virginia and Louisiana-Monroe, Stone Mountain coach Charles Reeves said.

Milton and Robert, has either of you considered “staying home” in the metro Atlanta area, for college? I hope you go to the Chick-fil-A Bowl game. You may just decide for Georgia Tech right then and there.

Take your time you have earned it, however be smart because there must be life after football. Many have been in your shoes before and they have let hype cause them to lose sight of the first goal get a free education. These times are rather difficult because of a number or reasons but your choice will be the difference in your life within the next 4 to 5 years.
