Will M.L. King’s Joel Kight take Georgia Tech’s scholarship offer before it’s gone?

Georgia Tech’s scholarship offer to M.L. King tailback/safety Joel Kight is apparently “time sensitive.”

The 5-foot-9, 200-pound Kight has narrowed his choices to the Jackets, Boston College, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss.

Following Kight’s official visit to Tech this weekend, the Jackets made it clear on Monday that they’re interested in a quick decision. Kight was offered by Tech two weeks ago.

“Joel said he had a good time and likes Georgia Tech, but he still wants to go on his visit to Ole Miss,” M.L. King coach Corey Jarvis said.

“[Tech assistant] coach Brian Jean-Mary called me today and said the offer might not be there. They want Joel to make a decision now.”

If Kight does not commit soon, Tech appears to be prepared to give the offer to tailback Luke Swift of Cedar Grove, Ind.

A scholarship became available earlier this month when Carver tailback Demond Dennis switched his commitment from Tech to Troy.

Kight is scheduled to visit Ole Miss in mid-January.

LOL!!! Wow, with the almighty Coach Little Johnson there now I thought recruits would be falling all over themselves to play for Yech? At least that’s according to the moronic bandwangon Yechies on here.

But no, instead they’re forced to make a young 17 year old kid make the most important decision of his life a hell of a lot sooner than he’s ready to. That’s the classless Yech we all know and hate. Why is the trade school so afraid of him making an SEC visit? LOL, typical tools!!

Why would Tech be afraid of an SEC visit when he can play in the ACC? They are now dominating the SEC in FB just like BB. Not to mention the academics. He had better jump aboard or stay on the dock with the SEC.

realityyech, It’s obvious your a ugay fan. You must still be bitter over a team full of 2-3 star recruits putting a beat down on your team of 4-5 star recruits. So before you start dissing CPJ you need to take a few jabs at Richt. He’s the one that got out coached. Bottom line is you got beat. So take it like a man and go cry on your own blog with the rest of the rednecks. What’s the good word? To Hell With Uga !

RealityYech I know you didn’t say anything about a bandwagon or should I spell it “bandwangon” like you did? Apparently the wagon stopped before it got to class with you in it……

I recall before the season started that the mighty DAWGS were going to win the BCS and since then I have read many blogs with people like yourself wanting CMR ran out of town, sounds like a pretty fickle “bandwangon” UGA fans are riding…..The just wait til next year “bandwangon” is what you’ll be riding next. Same ole song for the mighty DAWGS, plenty of talent and little results. All this hype and for what, you have as many National Championships as Maryland….lol

Even your mighty coach Dooley was overrated. What did he accomplish without the goal line stalker?

Give it a rest!

It’s funny how when Ugay only had a few scholarships to offer, they did the exact same thing. They told kids we need a decision now or we’ll offer the scholarship to another kid. that’s college football, RealityMoron. You should look at your own program before you criticize others. What it really means is that Tech is a desirable place, and we can only offer so many kids. All good programs have this “problem”. Too bad Ugay doesn’t have it anymore. They’re just trying to pick up the scraps left from other programs.

Yech, I think you hit the nail on the head. The reason that he is being given a short time frame is that there are others that are eager to jump on. CJP wants men that want to be here.

No hard feelings if he chooses otherwise, but don’t miss out on being part of the hot team.

So, Yuck Off Yech! To Hell With georgia!

By jjacket

The kid can take his time all he wants. He just won’t get to attend GT if he takes too long. The coach is doing him a favor letting him know he isn’t the only recruit that can be offered and his offer may go elsewhere.

What’s the big deal? RealityYech acts like GT/PJ is the only school that makes these demands on players. Every school says they need to know. It’s especially a tool used when you beat the crap out of UGA. Usually there is more than one recruit per scholarship. Coach is just letting the young man know that he wants him. If the young man needs more time, take it. CPJ is just being up front letting him know that he can’t wait forever.

Paying football in your hometown or home state where your folks can watch you in person every home game in this economy is a no brainer even if Tech was not doing well and PJ was still at Navy. Only a 17 year old would look at his situation as a kid in a candy store with anything he wants is within his reach. Screw the rest of the supporting cast. Is Ole Miss on TV in our area very often? I think not. There must be a real draw at Ole Miss I am unaware of and don’t give me that SEC crap.

It is sad when you get a spanking and instead of taking it with class you post on every available site how bad the spanker is……. You make the reasonable puppy fan look really bad.

Its obvious some of you never had to go through the recruiting process before. Yes schools deserve the right to ask for a timetable on a commitment due to the number of scholarships available but it is more crucial for that student athlete to take his time and research all his options so that he can make the right decision on where he will possibly spend the next four or five years of his life.

Seems like a simple choice to me Joel. Just read these blogs. Georgia Tech is going to win the next 10 ACC titles and beat Georgia 20 years in a row. There will probably be several National titles thrown in to the mix as well. CPJ will be in the Hall of Fame by 2015. I mean what other conclusions can be drawn from Georgia Tech’s miraculous 9-3 season in which they absolutely clobbered UGA by a field goal? The writing is on the wall and you are an ignorant redneck that works at Waffle House if you can’t read it. This is a no brainer kid. Go to Georgia Tech. Go to the proven winner.

the deal is we have a kid who has been told his offer depends on someone in front of him. we are trying to get a decision from the guy in front of him so we don’t lose both of them. the kid 2nd in line has been patient, but we need to let him know something soon so he doesn’t lose all of his 2nd and 3rd choices while waiting on someone elses choice. It’s not all about Kight, we are trying to be fair to Swift as well. I say if Kight doesn’t man up now then go with Swift, he REALLY wants to be a Jacket!

This dude is a 2 star running back. 5’9” 200 lbs. These types are a dime a dozen. Tech is giving him a break by extending him a scholarship. Personally I would rather Tech invest in some big offensive or defensive line prospect.

We already have 10 to 15 guys just like Kight that play scout team and occassionaly get a special teams rep. If he thinks Ole Miss is a better opportunity then I already know he is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

All of you Tech fans are too hilarious!! I love reading this blog because you people really think that 1 win this decade makes you feel like you have a real dynasty. The truth is that you haven’t even won the lowly ACC since their inception of a conference championship. Ya’ll always want to compare yourselves with UGA but we are in a much harder conference and we absolutely own your program. One three point win won’t change that anytime soon. So, please focus on winnning your conference and maybe if you can beat UGA at least 3 yrs in a row, then maybe we will consider your comments. Until then, keep your mouths shut before we get some raid and spray you little bugs!! LOL!!

Dear Hire More Black Coaches, Am I to understand that Georgia Tech fans should not celebrate, or that it is somewhat premature for them to celebrate the success of CPJ and beating Georgia this year? That Georgia Tech fans cannot and should not declare their joy from successes on the field until they—> A. win the ACC and B. beat Georgia, at the very least, three times in a row? Then, and only then, will the Tech fans on this site be privileged enough for you to consider their comments on this blog intended for Georgia Tech fans?

Well, I have two qualifications for you to comment on the Georgia Tech Fan Blog, and they are as follows: A. Change your ridiculous screen name to have your comments remotely considered. B. *”There must be a real draw at Ole Miss I am unaware of and don’t give me that SEC crap.”

Maybe the fact that Houston Nutt is the HC at Ole Miss and Houston Nutt coached 1st round TB’s Darren McFadden and Felix Jones at Arkansas???? The kid will have more looks as a true TB and will get mixed in with the “Wild Rebel” formation that NFL teams are starting to use as well. He won’t get that look at Tech. The kids are going to look at programs with NFL style offenses to help prepare them for the next level. If I’m a top HS recruit, I’m going to a place where I can showcase my talent and prepare myself for the NFL. I want to play for a coach who produces NFL talent at my position.

Young man take a look at all the schools but realize that with all schools getting 85 scholarships (Tech 82) they need to fill holes and if you delay you could lose. I know you want to play now and that might not happen at TECH but if you can make the grade and wait a year you will not be unhappy.

Joel is a great kid and will excel no matter wherever he chooses to play at the next level. No one should criticize Joel for wanting to take his time to think about his options nor GA Tech wanting to press for a decision so they can decide whether to offer the scholarship to someone else before they may decide to accept another offer to go to another University.

In the day where young men seem to de-commit daily, I think that it’s admirable Joel really wants to think through the process before making a hasty decision. I also think it’s admirable that GA Tech wants to be able to tell another deserving young man that he may be in line for a scholarship more quickly; not only for the various athletes but for the other Institutions.

There aren’t any bad guys in this equation. Universities do this every year. I didn’t hear anyone complain when players jumped on offers from UGA because they heard positions were being filled for them (i.e. linebacker spots).

Happy Holidays.

Tech fans keep pounding their chests about this “success” they are supposedly having. What success? You are 9-3 and going to the Chicken Bowl. Yes, its a surprise. No, it does not mean the blue chippers will start beating down your door wanting to sign with Tech. The blue chippers want to play in BCS bowls and move on to the NFL. Nothing has happened this year that would suggest Tech is the place for them. Most schools would consider their season a disappointment if they went to the Chicken Bowl. You clowns act like you’re going to the damn Super Bowl. Put down the crack pipe and get real people. Geez.

Huh? is absolutely right Tech fans. You are really not supposed to be excited about improving from last year, sharing a portion of the ACC with VaTech, and beating Georgia. You didn’t land on the moon! Get real. Especially you should not celebrate since you are not undefeated, which would be considered a failure at 5 or 6 schools among the hundreds that compete in the FBS. Tech fans, grow up that you are happy that you were predicted to go 3-9, but finished 9-3 and snapped a bad streak to your heated rival. Tech fans, stop smoking crack, taking black tar heroin, and being reasonably excited about a potentially very bright future. Geez.

It is clear that the non working UGA fans are bored and have nothing to do all day except display why the could not get into UGA. Praying to false gods has been a habit of the un-educated followers for thousands of years. The idiots spewing their garbage on the Tech blog is the same group praying to false gods when they appointed themselves national champs before the first snap of the season. It is obvious why they are so upset. They have no life other than talking about the school they never attended. I can guarantee you that my dozens of friends who actually went to UGA and played there would throw-up if they read this garbage they write. Why do we respond to them? I am proud of my time at Tech and equally proud of of time playing at Tech. I will continue to post my excitement of our victories and continued growth. This young man is properly taking his time to sort out his priorities. In a day when people commit “til death do us part” and then walk away in a couple of years, actually THINKING THROUGH a commitment is an excellent sign for a young man. We WANT thinking players at GT.

The ‘net was a LOT better before every idjit redneck could get a cheap computer and spread their “thoughts”. And yeah, the compulsive need for these mutt fans to post on ‘everything GT’ points out their jealousy and insecurity. They truly are dogs trying to mark territory as their own…

Joel is no stranger to this process as he is the little brother to a great high school reciever from Lithonia, Kelvin Kight, who was heavily recruited and ended up at Florida. He has good influences around him. Joel has to go his own direction because he actually excelled more playing LB w/ MLK than RB. I’m sure GT can find more recruits just as talented as Joel. I don’t think asking for a speedy decision will harm either party but if Roddy Jones (of comparable size to Joel) doesn’t inspire him I doubt a Big 12 RB would. And Houston Nutt with that “Wild Rebel” sounds good for Joel as well.
