Tennessee coach not backing down from Spurrier

New Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin couldn’t resist making one little joke about Steve Spurrier. It comes with the territory as coach of the Volunteers.

The South Carolina coach, who had a history of making jokes at former Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer’s expense, questioned earlier this month whether Kiffin contacted recruits before he had passed the NCAA test that allows him to do so.

He had this to say: “I’m not concerned about that. If Steve’s concerned about my test, I got a 39 out of 40. I’d like to see what he got.”

Kiffin said earlier this month that he took the NCAA recruiting test several days before he was introduced as coach and began contacting recruits on the first morning he was allowed to.

Spurrier once famously quipped “you can’t spell Citrus without UT” as a way of mocking Tennessee’s appearances in the Citrus Bowl after regularly losing to his Florida teams.

Kiffin is going to learn pretty quickly that selling premier plays on UT is not as easy as selling them on the real USC. USC East is getting better while the Vols are on a fast track to the dumpster!

Kiffin better take a look at Steve’s recruiting. He’ll be kicking the Vols butts until further notice. Besides what the heck has Lane Kiffin ever done to deserve a head coaching job in the SEC. Oh, that’s right. He brought his Daddy. He will learn soon enough that he will have a few more Daddies-Spurrier, Richt, Saban, Meyer, to name a few.

He needs to shut up and prove something on the field. He’s a punk who is about to get punked big time.

LOL at USCjr fans… Get one win against UT, 7 wins in a season, and think they are on the up and up. Meanwhile Spurrier is only concerned with his short game, long putts and those USCjr checks directly deposited into his account. Oh yea, thanks for the QB coach/Head Recruiter and one of the best S+C Coach in the country… Tis the season…Happy Poaching!!

LOL at UT fans. They get Lane Kiffin. One of the worst hires ever. And you can have Reaves. How many recruits has he gotten you? And he was the QB coach at USC? Riiiiight. You may want to educate yourself about Lane’s brother-in-law. He was made coordinator so he would be out of the way-setting appointments, playing secretary to the real recruiters-SOS,SOS, JR, Beamer, Lawing and Johnson. Educate yourself sometime.

Thanks for Giles and Swearingen. S&C coaches? They are a dime a dozen.
