Alabama’s Nick Saban coming to town to meet with state’s No. 1 prospect

Washington High cornerback Branden Smith is expecting a visit at his school on Wednesday from Alabama coach Nick Saban and Florida assistant Kenny Carter, according to Washington coach Stanley Pritchett.
Pritchett told the AJC that Smith enjoys the visits but is growing weary of recruiting as decision time nears. Smith has said he will announce his decision Jan. 4 during the Under Armour All-American Bowl in Orlando.
“I think he’s getting tired of it,” Pritchett said. “He came to me [Tuesday] and just talked about the pressures of all the schools coming every day. I just told him, ‘Hang in there.’ He has a tough decision to make. He hasn’t tipped off [his decision], but I know he wants Jan. 4 to get here as quick as possible.”
Visits to Washington’s school are common. Last week, Smith got visits from Georgia’s Rodney Garner, Florida State’s Mickey Andrews and Alabama’s Lance Thompson, Pritchett said.

Branden,
Forget about the classless people who call you a premadona and say you just want the attention. It is a big decision and it is your decision. You are planning to commit a month before signing day, which is not dragging it out. We’d love you have you between the hedges, but go with your heart.
Go Dawgs! Sic’em!

Actually, Willie Martinez, during his time on the Georgia staff, has proven he is a very fine and accomplished secondary coach. While many lambast him as the Defensive Co-ordinator, no one should fail to recall the fine secondaries he has put on the field in the past and how many guys are playing on Sundays off Martinez’ secondary. Davis, Blue, Jones, Wansley, Jennings, Oliver, Minter quickly come to mind.
By the way, Chuck, it’s far more than three letters, it’s an entire state, an entire nation of followers, anyway you say it or spell it it’s GEORGIA baby!!!

The devil came over to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal. He was in a bind ‘cuz he was way behind: he was willin’ to make a deal. When he came across this young man playin’ on a field and playin’ it hot. And the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and said: “Boy let me tell you what: “I bet you didn’t know it, but I was a DB player too. “And if you’d care to take a dare, I’ll make a bet with you. “Now you play a pretty good DB, boy, but give the devil his due: “I bet a scholarship of gold against your soul, ‘cos I think I’m better than you.” The boy said: “My name’s Branden and it might be a sin, “But I’ll take your bet, your gonna regret, ‘cos I’m the best that’s ever been.”
Branden you strap up your pads and play your position hard. ‘Cos hells broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals it hard. And if you win you get this shiny scholarship made of gold. But if you lose, the Saban gets your soul.

As a BAMA fan, I dont blame Saban for making a push, but everyone knows this kid is all UGA. He is a stud and I wish him best in his future!!

Branden is all UGA. I wish CNS could sway him and I like the fact that he’s visiting him, but I think we all know he’s a dog. Best wishes Branden wherever you decide to go. For what it’s worth, things look very good for Darren Myles to Bama. Expect that decision soon. He’s going to be a tremendous player in our secondary. RTR
