Lassiter’s Lutzenkirchen hasn’t heard from Auburn coach
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

New Auburn head coach Gene Chizik isn’t making many fans with his arrival.
Lassiter tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen has not heard from the new Tigers head coach, Lutzenkirchen’s father, Mike, told the AJC on Tuesday. That’s never a good sign for a recruit who is committed, but exploring his options.
Lutzenkirchen received a personal visit from Alabama head coach Nick Saban on Friday, then traveled to Knoxville for an unofficial visit to see Tennessee. He and his father met with Lane Kiffin personally during the visit.
“He’s dealing with it in a proactive manner,” Mike Lutzenkirchen said. “Philip wants to see how it all plays out because they haven’t talked about what they’re going to do on offense at all, but he’s got options, fortunately. And some of those are very good options.”
Florida is a strong possibly to replace Auburn for Lutzenkirchen’s services, but Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State and now the Crimson Tide are all on the bandwagon of one of the most sought after recruits in the nation.

maybe yall should BLACKOUT for recruiting, or maybe jump up and down in the endzone, or… some other bs that doesn’t actually matter- that’s what UGA’S good for… hype. I’ll hang my hounstooth on winning football games. Would say “see you in Atlanta”, but you won’t be there. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

The man’s only had the job for one day. Give him a chance.
I have no doubt he will be in contact with all the commitments.
Be reasonable.

St. Nick, Putting all of your text in bold font doesn’t make what you’re saying any better.
You’ve been to (not won) one SEC Championship recently. Saban’s a good coach, but before you start talking about who is all hype don’t forget who kept talking about Bear Bryant amidst all of the losing and violations the last couple of decades.

There is no doubt that Auburn absolutely will do as much as a coach can to convince this outstanding TE to stay with Auburn and build an offense that will return to the 2004 version of Auburn. The TE was totally in every play.

This all does not sound good for Auburn. The tone of this deal says this player is going elsewhere. And I don’t believe it has anything to do with not calling in the first 24 hours on the job.

hey now i hate auburn a lot and most the people who go there but im gonna put my hate aside for this. There is auburn who fired one of the best coaches in the SEC for a guy who had a 10 game losing streak at his last job. Now there is Alabama youngest team in the nation with an offense that gets the ball to the tight ends. Both have great fans and passion to win. And both are in sweet home alabama so man you decide whats best for you ROLL TIDE ROLL

Go to Bama, go to UGA, just go somewhere other than Auburn. Do you want to play for a joke of a coach who’s Iowa St team actually was worse this year than last?

I’ve never had a problem with Bama before but to hear some of these post on here you would think that Bama has never suffered any setbacks. As for Bashing Georgia, I believe we have won 2 SEC titles in the past 6 years. Which is 2 better than the Tide I’m sure of. I’ve always liked the class of Bama fans at games but c’mon, don’t start trash talking after one good season.

Are you kidding me? Where is Southern Cal, Penn State, and Ohio State? It must be a slow day in the sports department. This is a good player, but “one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation”? This is what is wrong with this process! The SCHOOL he committed to loses their head coach and his father is concerned that the new one has not called so they are running all over the southeast meeting with head coaches! Why haven’t they driven down the road to Opelika and visited with them? Tough question, which I am sure the AJC sports staff was too busy to ask as they printed the most recent update from this superstar’s pr machine! I just hope that he decides to go to college and we are not burdened with the weekly update on his morale and playing status if any! Meanwhile the LACK of honor in the process is terrible and is very instructive to our young people! But what can we expect from a nation who just elected a community organizer and freshman senator with NO accomplishments over a person with 50 years of service to his country to be the head of the free world! Why should we be surprised that Kiffin, Saban, Meyer, etc…would agree to meet with a player who has committed to another school and has not done the honorable thing and decommitted! By the way, I am not an Auburn grad or fan, the Clemson situation was just as bad!

Wow ! The PR machine is working OT here. Why is this news ? If the kid wants to go to AU and earn a spot and playing time with the Tigers then he’ll sign Feb 4th and go there and do it. If he was up to the PR that his machine is cranking through here he would be in San Antonio, TX Jan 3 or in Orlando, Fl Jan 4. Is the SEC really looking for a 6’ 2 3/4” 4.75 TE that is not a physical blocker ? Maybe a GPA booster ? Is the hype turbo on or what ?
