Georgia Tech’s newest recruit considers early enrollment

Westside-Macon linebacker Julian Burnett, Georgia Tech’s newest commitment, is considering enrolling in January.

Burnett will have an opportunity to discuss his options with academic counselors during his three-day official visit to Tech, which begins on Dec. 19.

“I’ll have all of my classes [at Westside] out of the way by the end of this month,” Burnett said. “I could enroll at Georgia Tech in January.

“I’m thinking about it, but I’m not really leaning either way right now. I do know the benefit of going [to Tech early] outweighs staying.”

Burnett picked the Yellow Jackets over offers from South Carolina, Purdue, Wake Forest, and N.C. State. He also heard from UGA, but had not been offered.

Burnett said Tech coaches plan to keep him at linebacker. It’s undetermined if he’ll play in the middle or outside.

“Yeah, they’re still looking at me at linebacker,” he said. “They haven’t said which one. They’ll try me at each one.”

Burnett said Tech coach Paul Johnson made a late push for him after viewing his highlight tape.

“The whole staff watched my film,” he said. “Afterwards, coach Johnson [told his assistants] ‘he’s the guy I want.’”

Good luck at Tech. They have the most ignorant fans in our league. You will also get a chance to play in front of 40,000 fans and get a free coke and meal out of it. You will also have a chance to “mingle” with terrorists, drug dealears, and the homeless folks. You will have fun!

Julian;

Welcome to the flats! We look forward to seeing you on the field at Bobby Dodd, and your family in the stands,on Saturdays, and Thursday nights, for the years to come!

As to nasty posts, like the one from above from “ACC fan,” who is more than likely a UGA supporter, use them as reinforcement that you have chosen not only the University which will provide you with a stellar education and a chance to play for an exciting, up-and-coming, team, but also the place that will provide you with the type of fans who will truly appreciate you as a player and a person.

Best of luck, and congratulations. Your hard work, both on the field and in the classroom, has paid off. You, your coaches, and especially your family, should be very proud of your accomplishments!

Oh, Tech and their paranoia and inferiority complex. Hilarious! Someone makes a negative statement, and it has to be Georgia. I guess everyone likes you in the ACC.

acc fan yes False. 55,000 seats. Players Get FREE MEALS at the training table provided in their scholorship or by playing a sport at any college. I don’t think there a single college in the US that does not have DRUG DEALERS on campus. Hang with TERRORISTS is that like being at a FRAT party as a Female and getting gang raped, all the Wiskey you can drink, or Stalked by a boy on campus you turned down for a date? Sounds like every College in the US too. So, Yes accfan you are full of Sh!t and STUPID. Shouldn’t it be WERE there any false statements? or WAS there a false statement? Where did you get your degree and what was it in? BLESS YOUR HEART

I would like to get Buford’s Cody “the skidloader” GETZ to play on the FLATS. He plays Ball like all the RHINO’s did and would never give up on a play. He could be a great return guy for sure.

Criticism of ACC fan is justified.

ACC fan,

You are being INCREDIBLY generous with your 40,000 fan talk. Tech could only muster 40,000 fans , not just with one of their classic FREE cokes and a hotdog deals, but with a kissing booth as well with an actual GIRL in the booth as opposed to what they’re normally used to. LOL!!!

Welcome to Tech, you have made the best decision in investing in both your football career and most importantly, education. The fact that you’re considering enrolling early shows your foresight and we’re glad to have you.

And please, at least get your facts right if you’re going to stick it to us. I believe we averaged close to 47,500 people at our games this season. Considering we’re an institute of under 20,000 students, the attendance sounds pretty decent, though it could be better, compared to other massive public institutions.

I suppose “drug dealers” have been peddling at Tech for 50 years. The same is true for Gang Rape by frat guys who called themselves “gentlemen”, specifically in 1962. All the facts are contained in this blog: — www(dot)georgiatech1962(dot)com
