Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson met with one of the state’s top juniors on Wednesday.
Johnson stopped by Union Grove on Wednesday to talk with defensive end Anthony Williams, who projects to be one of the state’s top prospects for the 2010 class. Williams has two former teammates currently playing for the Yellow Jackets, and admitted that he is a lifelong fan of Tech.
“It went well with [Johnson], I was nervous at first, but not for long because Coach Johnson was so laid back,” Williams said.
Did Tech offer Williams? “[Johnson] never came out and offered me a scholarship. But he did say that I would fit in very well at Georgia Tech. He said they would be losing a lot of seniors to graduation, and if I came there, then I would have a chance to play early.”
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Williams said that Stanford is scheduled to stop by his school within the next two days. He does not have an early offers, but says Ohio State, Florida and Alabama have all expressed serious interest.

UGfan…what a waste? They beat us. We had better get used to competing for the top talent with CPJ in the house.

Coach Johnson would be wise to take Williams. He was beast on the field when Union Grove played NSWR. NSWR Coach Nix mentioned how impressed he was with Williams. Hey, we might see him in the play-off next year——if we squeeze in.
