Blessed Trinity’s Crisafi in high demand

If you want time with Blessed Trinity’s Matt Crisafi, get in line. His calendar has been pretty full with recruiters wanting a piece of him, too.
Furman head coach Bobby Lamb visited Crisafi, a 6-foot-4, 302-pound tackle, at school Wednesday, before Samford defensive line coach Ross Newton showed up that night at his house. Newton visited again Monday at Blessed Trinity with Samford head coach Pat Sullivan and offensive line coach Brandon Herring. Monday night, Middle Tennessee State offensive coordinator G.A. Mangus stopped by the house for about 2 ½ hours, Crisafi said.
Two more Furman assistants had breakfast with Crisafi at school this week, and Gardner-Webb assistant Chris Foster came one afternoon.
Crisafi discussed taking official visits to some of the schools in January, after which he plans to make a decision by National Signing Day. He already has been offered scholarships by Tulane, Middle Tennessee, Delaware, Samford, Gardner-Webb, and Hampton, but doesn’t want to make any decisions until taking some official visits.
“It’s a real blessing to have this many opportunities and great programs recruiting me so hard,” said Crisafi, who’ll play in the North-South all-star game on Dec. 29 in Columbus. “It’s flattering that people see what I’ve done and how hard I’ve worked and that they consider me worthy of playing at the next level.”
