M.L. King RB offered by Georgia Tech on Monday

M.L. King junior Mack Brown received a scholarship offer from Georgia Tech on Monday, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound tailback said.

“Coach Brian Jean-Mary came to the school and offered me a scholarship,” Brown said. “I had no idea they were going to offer me, because I’m only a junior.”

Brown now has five offers, including Oregon, Louisville, Arkansas and Duke.

“My coach said there are other schools that have shown an interest like Florida and Alabama,” he said.

Brown does not have any official visits scheduled and he does not anticipate committing until signing day of 2010.

“I don’t really have a top choice,” he said. “I want to see what my options are and talk to my family.”

Brown, one of the state’s top juniors, rushed for 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2008. Brown’s teammate Joel Kight, a senior linebacker, has an official visit scheduled to Georgia Tech next weekend. Kight has not been offered, but feels like the Yellow Jackets may offer during his recruiting trip.

Congratulations kiddo! Might want to go ahead and accept that offer to Tech. They’re only going to get harder and more competitive to get in the time soon to come.

Mack, Good job Mack. I know you will make the right choice when you decide what school to further your education. Keep working hard off and on the field of play.
