UGA making late charge for Alabama-bound WR Michael Bowman?

Georgia may be making a late run at Ridgeland’s Michael Bowman, who is arguably the state’s top wide receiver and committed to Alabama.

And Bowman said he is willing to listen to the Bulldogs.

“Georgia was my first love, and I will make up my mind at the end,” Bowman told the AJC on Friday night. “I’m still committed to Alabama. But I have to consider all my options … anything could happen.”

With the Crimson Tide going over final preparations in Atlanta for the SEC Championship, UGA assistant Stacey Searels stopped by Ridgeland on Friday to pick up film on Bowman and ask if he was interested in the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Bowman said Searels seemed excited that he indeed still interested. Bowman was told that UGA would call next week after reviewing his film to talk more about a scholarship offer.

Bowman had a sensational senior season, catching 30 passes for 1,006 yards and 14 touchdowns. Last summer, he won MVP honors at the prospect camps at both UGA and Alabama.

This guy would be a great pickup for the Dawgs. It will be tough to get him back considering the jaded feeling he got from UGA for not receiving an offer earlier and since Alabama has had such a good year but maybe we can keep this top prospect in-state. Imagine bringing Bowman and Marlon Brown in the same class to line up beside A.J. and TK! Stafford would defintely think twice before leaving then

Bowman loves Nick Saban and Bama’s NC program. UGA lost whatever chance they had and Bowman saw the BEATDOWN Bama put on Jawga. It’s over pup-pe-dawgs. Now don’t step in your poop while wathcing the two Kings of SEC football collide Saturday. Hope those yellow stingers heel by next Spetember Pu-Pe-Dawgs…LOL.

If the kid had a brain he wouldn’t listen to thUGA. Look who’s playing in the dome tonight kid. Go Gators

Georgia however was preseason number ONE, fitting that they will end up playing in the capital ONE bowl. hahahaha

Chuck, the fact is the best football players in the south come from Georgia and Florida. That means the in-state schools have the advantage. Don’t worry about our loss to bama, it was the first one in over ten years, Chump, I mean Chuck. Michael, if you are a true Dawg like you say you are then we would love to have you! We need players like you, with passion, that knows what kind of rivalry the UF game is etc… Good luck and Go Dawgs!!!

It is the same old story. GA gets top recruiting class year after year and what did Spurrier say, must be the coaching why they cannot win. Now they can’t even beat us. Wonder where Tech would be if the athlete would put an education before football. First! They would win both on and off the field. Go Tech!!!!!!!!!!!

Bowman should fit in just perfect at GA.Especially if he turns out like his close kin Adarius, thrown out of UNC for pot, goes to OK state sure to be early round draft pick, busted in Athens TN for Pot just before NFL draft. Sounds like Adarius would have been a perfect fit for UGA and all the cons. Will the media guide next year have football pics or mug shots.

B JACKSON I don’t agree with you on alot of things u say on here I have to agree with u on this one.UGA need to bring 1,000% more attitude with them on Saturday’s.I have never seen a team that has so much tradition and such a great fan base but yet can’t defend their home turf to save their life.I’ll take the Dawgs on the road any day than I would at home. The pieces are there for a NC we just need to make a few easy adjustments.

the bull-dykes are a bunch of wet poodles. Listen to all the smack talk. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Don’t worry - you’ll have a chance to embarrass yourself next year at Bobby Dodd.

later bull-dykes. Get on your strap ons and start humping yourselves….

Look, there are great high school football players right here in this state whom “yes” can pass their classes. It seems to me that we will only offer a kid if he comes to a UGA camp. I hope i’m wrong about that but that is the way it seem’s UGA better take a step back and look at just what they are doing. I have a feeling there missing out on some very fine athlete’s i.e. “football player’s” right here in our own back yard.

This is our problem going after guys like this. The reason we didn’t offer him in the first place is because of his grades and background history. This guy will never make it at UGA. He is just like his cousin in a pot head and doesn’t make good grades. He probably won’t even be academically elgible.

UGA needs to get quality athletes not hopefuls!!! Mark it down, if he comes to UGA he will not qualify or will be kicked out by his sophmore year.

Although I’m a BAMA fan. I think Michael Bowman needs to step back and not be rushed. He has to look at which program is best suited for his development, and which program can offer him the best support in getting his degree. Most of these young men coming out of high school have great ability, but it boils down to which coaches can develop him for the next level. Go BAMA there is always life after football.
