David Sims of Calhoun County (S.C.) has switched his commitment from Kentucky to Georgia Tech, according to GoGamecocks, com.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Sims is projected to play quaterback at Tech. The Jackets already have a commitment from Jordan Luallen, a quarterback from Center Grove High in Greenwood, Ind.

David Sims was recruited as a QB, RB, and S by most every school in the southeast and several nationally. He has been timed as fast as 4.46 in the forty.
He chose GT over offers from Florida, Alabama, FSU, Tennessee, Michigan, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, etc. etc.
This is a huge pickup!

The ball is rolling, and the Dawgs will see problems the next few years trying to contend with Paul Johnson teams.

OH yessssssss!!! Now it gets interesting for the Holier than Thou Dawg fans that look down their nose that is reddened from too much booze and bark their insults to the Tech fans. Georgia should always beat Tech, that’s their God given right or they would have you think. It’s just a pleasure to be able to breathe the same air as what they have in Athens. Poor ole Tech is gonna be a thorn in the Dawg A$$ again.

I think we are going to have some great competition at QB for the next 2 yrs. Dykes maybe out but Shaw & Nesbit know they are going to play. Now, with these two coming in we will have more depth and chance to rotate them into the O and keep all the QBs healthy. Good Luck young man glad to have you on the Flats.

5’11” QB, what the heck is that? I’m sorry, another Joe Hamilton (maybe). Speaking of Joe, wouldn’t it be great to bring him in as the QB coach. First team All-American, second in Heisman voting, that understands the option better than almost anyone. He may have been the best option QB in the last decade.

With all of our 5 star talent we could only put up 10 points against Florida! I keep getting reminded of a 2 star recruit named Patrick White that danced all over the endzone against us in the sugar bowl, and he was an option quarterback. Hopefully that’s not a preview of Nesbitt or future ga tech QBs.

Hey Navigator. Did you forget Little Joe Hamilton DID coach at Tech. Lasted as long as a cup of Coffee till he got drunk, left the scene of an accident and then lied about it. And you want him back?
Also the Penis envy of all the Tech fans wanting to say you can scare Georgia with all these recruits and Paul Johnson, why not wait till you accomplish something first. Backing into the ACC division championship, maybe, is not dominating the ACC, which is really weak this year anyway. Its not like Georgia is getting worse. Tech has to get better than it has been but wait till something is there to brag about.

How funny, so you Tech fans are saying you have a complex about not being as good as Georgia fans and now that you might win you feel better about yourselves. Guess all that money you must make doesn’t do it for you.

Realisticfan, if the ACC is so weak, then why is it the second rated confrence according to the Sagarin? Oh, and that’s one spot AHEAD of the big, bad SEC.

Going 8-3 in a rebuilding year despite a limited roster and injuries, starting as many as 16 freshman and sophmores, the future is decidedly bright. Given the improved recruiting the past three years, the Dawgs know that this will soon be a rivalry on the field again.

hey realisticfan, “Its not like Georgia is getting worse. Tech has to get better than it has been but wait till something is there to brag about.” Let me see…the daws were picked to be the #1 college football team in the preseason polls and tech was not ranked. As we are a week from the ga-ga tech game, the dawgs have slipped out of the top ten and the jackets are #18 according to the ap polls. Have we gotten worse? Or is it georgia who was overrated afterall? We have something to brag about b/c we actually overachieved this year. Remember, we were supposed to finish 4th in the acc. Look where we are at now. The worst we can do is finish co-champions of the coastal division. Where is georgia at? Apparently not at the top. You sec fans are knocking acc about being weak, but how many of the sec teams are ranked? I think there is only 3 that is ranked, but wait a minute…there are 3 acc teams that are ranked as well. The difference is that the acc is MORE competitive b/c if you look at the previous weeks, there have been different teams that made it in the top 25. On the other hand, the sec has had florida, georgia, and alabama consistently in the polls. What does that tell you? The other teams in the sec conference are weak!! Everyone will know after Nov. 29th who has the bragging rights in the state of Georgia. Go Jackets and THWG!!!

As a Dawg fan I gotta admit I’m a scared of Tech both this year and the future. We have failed to show up in either of our 2 biggest games this year and Tech has really come to play in theirs. I just have a feeling that this could be the year we finally lose 1 to them. What’s even scarier is they building something with all their young players and solid recruits. I think we need to finish up big with Jarvis Jones, Branden Smith, Marlin Brown, and others just to avoid falling back into a place where GT can compete with us every year.

I actually like our new jerseys! What does it matter anyway? I thought it’s what goes down on the field that matters neil? The whiteout looked good to me, and that’s what the players and the students, including myself, wanted for the game.

I don’t expect the UGA fans on this blog to admit or even know it, but I’m sure the Dawg’s players and coaches do. GT is the third best team UGA has played this year - and we all know what happened with the top two.
