Eastside’s Justin Wray delays college visits

Eastside’s Justin Wray doesn’t plan on taking any more visits until after the season.

“I’m just taking care of the playoffs,” said the quarterback, whose Eagles (10-1) beat Creekview on Friday in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.

Wray, who ran for nearly 100 yards in the 20-6 victory, has thrown for more than 1,100 yards with eight touchdowns and run for more than 450 yards with 10 touchdowns.

Recruited as an “athlete” by some schools, the 6-2, 200-pound Wray, a safety on defense, also has a fumble return for a touchdown.

Wray visited the University of Alabama-Birmingham last month. Wake Forest and Vanderbilt also have expressed interest, he said.

“After my season is over, I’ll schedule my official visits and we’ll go from there,” Wray said. “
