How It Went: Euclid Cummings expecting Florida offer

Centennial coach Jeff Measor expects Florida to offer Knights defensive end Euclid Cummings a scholarship this week, following the 6-foot-3, 230-pound player’s visit in person Saturday with Gators coach Urban Meyer after No. 3 Florida’s 56-6 victory over No. 24 South Carolina.

“They put a pretty heavy, full-court press on him,” Measor said. “Meyer told me last week they were going to make him an offer. I fully expect they will make one some time this week.”

Measor said Cummings already has offers from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia Tech, which he’s scheduled to officially visit on Dec. 13. Measor said Cummings isn’t likely to commit to Florida, though the Gators likely will be prominent among schools he’s considering. The coach said Cummings, a player on The Georgia 150 who’s ranked 38th in Georgia by Rivals.com, likely wouldn’t accept Florida’s offer unless he makes an official visit there, and that no official offer was yet planned.

“Florida (would be) in the lead because it’s Florida, but he’s still obviously considering Tech and the other schools,” Measor said. “He’s got to look at playing time, depth charts, etc.”

Measor said he expects Cummings’ decision to be careful.

“You don’t make a decision that governs the next four years of your life by just going (to a college) one day for a game,” Measor said. “That’s not indicative of how your day-to-day life will be.”

Euclid, Come to Georgia Tech. More than those other schools, we really understand Euclidean space!

Not impressed - He played very undisciplined all night vs. Roswell as both our tackles got the best of him most of the night. A D1 prospect?????? Over Rated!
