Milton teammate expects Toney Williams to stay with Tennessee

Milton long snapper Michael Brodsky, who verbally committed in July with the University of Tulsa, expects Eagles running back Toney Williams will remain committed to Tennessee, despite Volunteers coach Phillip Fulmer’s decision to step down at the end of the season.

“Me knowing Toney, I don’t think he’s going to fall away from Tennessee,” said Brodsky, who played in Milton’s feeder program with Williams before varsity. “He’s a very loyal person. He’s been talking about playing at Tennessee for years now. He loves the campus, and I don’t think he’d change his mind because of the coach [leaving].”

Williams, a member of the AJC’s The Georgia 150, has insisted he’ll honor the commitment he made to the Vols in April. He has, however, restarted talks with other schools, including Georgia and Georgia Tech.

“Our coaches have taught us to pick the school and the environment, not just the coach,” Brodsky said. “Nowadays, coaches move around so much. You can’t pick a college just because of the coach.”

Hang in there, Toney. We’ll have you a great coach that will make you and the team better during your time at UT. Enjoy the rest of your senior year.

Then why is coming to Tech for an offical visit. At tech he will carry the ball as many times as he wants, at Tenn. he doesn’t even know who the coach will be. Go Jackets
