Alexander OL Mitchell readies for career at Kentucky

Louisville has been courting Alexander’s Kevin Mitchell. But the 6-foot-7, 291-pound offensive tackle has made it clear that he’s bound for Kentucky.
“Yeah, Louisville is kind of on and off,” Mitchell said. “But I’ve told them I’m solid with Kentucky. They’ve backed off lately.”
Mitchell, who attended the Cats narrow loss to Georgia in Lexington on Saturday, said there are many reasons he plans to sign with Kentucky in February.
“It’s the coaches, the people, the players and everything about the town,” he said.
Mitchell plans to enroll at Kentucky in June. He’s uncertain if he’ll redshirt next season.
“They said they’ll see when I get up there,” Mitchell said. “After practicing [next summer], they’ll talk to me about it.
“They’ll probably redshirt me and, if they do, that’s perfectly fine.”
