Mt. Zion-Jonesboro wide receiver Drexel Copeland said he is on Georgia Tech’s recruiting board.
“They are going after a wide receiver from North Carolina, but if he doesn’t go then they are going to offer me,” the 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior said.
The wide receiver Copeland is referring to is Jheranie Boyd from Gastonia, N.C., the country’s No. 4 wide receiver, according to Rivals.com.. But Boyd commited to North Carolina last week.
“That means he should be getting an offer,” Mt. Zion head coach Jarrett Laws said.
Laws said he has been talking to Tech assistant coach Buzz Preston about Copeland.
“They see a lot of potential,” he said.
Copeland currently has offers from Alabama A&M and Tusculum College. Furman has been in contact with him.

Tusculum? I am sorry but that sounds like a prison work farm in Arkansas.

Nope not a prison farm but one of the top D2 programs in the country last year. Their facilities are very nice. $13M baseball stadium and 70 yard sprint turf indoor building. BTW, located in beautiful NE Tennessee just on the other side of the North Carolina mountains. In the SAC with Carson Newman. Nice place!
