Brookwood’s Williams hopes Alabama avoids No. 1 curse

Brookwood’s Kellen Williams is hoping that Alabama can avoid “the curse.” The Crimson Tide climbed into the No. 1 spot in the BCS rankings this week.

“Obviously I’m honored to be associated with the University of Alabama and I always have been,” Williams said. “But it’s a little bit of an ego boost when you know you’re being recruited by the No. 1 school in the country. The ranking comes with a lot of responsibility and hopefully they don’t get the curse. I don’t think they will. Hopefully they can hang on, win out and make a run for the national championship.”

Williams, who went to Alabama’s game against Arkansas State on Saturday, also plans to go to games later this month against Auburn and Mississippi State. He’d like to see his future school play at least one other time, this one with a shorter ride - the SEC Championship in the Georgia Dome.

“We’re waiting to see,” Williams said. “If they win this week [vs. LSU], it’s sure they’ll be playing. My mom will be waiting on e-Bay to get some tickets. I’ll definitely be down there if they’re in it.”

A 6-4, 300-pound tackle, Williams won’t make his official visit to Tuscaloosa until January.

See you on the FLATS in 2012 for your season. Bama & GT will get to mix it up home & home starting that year. Have a good time at bama and don’t forget to go to the REAL DREAMLAND BBQ. Sit in the back corner booth and enjoy the meal. GT fan that likes Bama too. Good luck young man health, wealth, and hit the books.

As a UGA fan, I have to give credit to ole Nick. Year 2 and doing this is amazing. I still think they step back next year with a new qb and offensive line. But I’ll give ole nick satan credit for this year as much as I hate it.
