Miller Grove’s Stephen Hill is Georgia Tech’s third commitment of day

Miller Grove wide receiver Stephen Hill, one of the state’s hottest prospects, switched his commitment from Central Florida to Georgia Tech on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Hill wasn’t planning on making a Tuesday decision. However, Georgia Tech assistant coach Brian Jean-Mary called Hill to let him know about the day’s other two commitments, and Hill responded that he wanted to join them.

“It seemed spur of the moment, but [Hill] has been liking Georgia Tech for quite a while now,” Miller Grove coach Jasper Jewell said. “He was going to announce by the end of the week, but Tuesday’s phone call presented an earlier opportunity.”

Hill, who is considered one of the state’s top three wide receivers, was a coup for Tech. Hill switched his commitment from Central Florida, had offers from Boston College and Mississippi State, and was under consideration with Georgia and Alabama.

Hill took an official visit to Boston College, but postponed his recruiting trip to Central Florida for last weekend. He is scheduled to make a recruiting trip to Georgia Tech on Dec. 12.

Mr. Hill is going to show the world why Tech football is relevant again. He is a monster and is going to put up monster numbers at Tech. When all is said and done CPJ is going to win a national title at Tech. What is funny he will do faster than whinny arse Richt at Ugay. Funny how things can turn around so quickly. Go Jackets.

Has he told George O’Leary yet??

Also, he picked Tech over UGA - so now all the little whiny Dawgs can’t say that since UGA did not want him, he isn’t any good.

Georgia Tech has managed to get the best athletes at Miller Grove. Point Guard Mfon Udofia committed to play basketball at Tech as well.

Coach Johnson you have an EXCELLENT talent in Stephen Hill. Please use him. THROW HIM THE DAMN BALL!

This young man sounds terrific but since he withdrew from UCF I certainly hope that he is certain and dosen’t get antsy when UGA puts the “scholly” on him.

Sad to say that poor old YellerSkeeter is still no better. He is still suffering from a massive inferiority complex. I still hope you eventually overcome this complex, Skeeter (although I am certain that it is even tougher since the Dawgs have been blown out this year by the only two good teams they have faced). I also hope you can overcome your homosexual tendencies that you have (if that is adding to your complex - but if you are comfortable with it, good luck).

Mr. Hill, numbers to think about Tech has thrown 104 passes in 9 games. Your High School team has thrown more passes than that. Please make sure there is a commitment to get you the ball.

Have you looked at the QB’s on the roster and the ones they have coming in? Can they get you the ball?

You are a great talent and I don’t want to see your talent shelved on a team that refuses to throw the ball. You will immediately compared to Calvin Johnson, if your talent is taken advantage of you can break every record he currently holds. You have a great future work extra hard.

Mr. Hill, you have caught more TD passes than Tech has thrown this year. Make sure CPJ is going to get you the ball. I agree with WR Guru, by the time you leave Tech you & Calvin Johnson will be known as the two best in Tech history (if CPJ makes sure you get the ball). The bright side: They don’t have a receiver on your level, that can work to your advantage. Go in ready to play immediately.

Learn the offense this summer, you can definitely go in and dominate immediately. Make them get you the ball.

Slow down Chad. Don’t go putting a curse on the poor kid. Every good prospect out of HS is “going to put up monster numbers” according to that university’s fans. And don’t start clearing a spot for that national championship trophy either. CPJ has done a great job at Tech so far. And maybe they get to that point, but if I remember correctly, all of us UGA fans had a NC for sure this year!

“YellowSkeeters are Petereasters” where have you been? I called you out on the UGA BLOGS and you were no where to be found. Were you still crying about the UF game? YSPE, I guess that you didn’t want to buy that 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home so, you picked the singlewide with a Z-28 on blocks because You didn’t want a real life too, right? YEA, you didn’t want him HAHAHAHA.

Don’t worry Mr. Hill, you’ll get the ball plenty and you’ll be wide open when you do. PJ has stated many times he will taylor the offense to suit the talent available. We welcome you to to an exclusive community. You won’t regret it.

CPJ has not shown all the O that we can have with the type of players we are Recruiting. There will be more passing, there will be more scoring, and there will be more players coming to TECH. We need to keep the D-Line players coming too. I am a “REDNECK” Tech Fan as they call it. My Step-Dad is a 61 grad and I have been attending games since 73. I am a Kenn. State Grad that gets to bleed White, Gold, and Black. I will also say Go Bill Curry at GSU. Young man do what is best for YOU. I want Tech to be GREAT but I truly want you to get what you need from your DEGREE too.

Why would a “top receiver” go to a run-oriented, option-style offense and hurt his career like that? He should wait for some better offers. And no, I am not talking about UGA. I don’t think we are going to offer him a scholarship.

Guess Top Dawg failed to notice the numbers BeBe put up a few weeks ago against Duke, and the fact that he has more receiving yards than Massaquio does so far this year. Not so bad for a run oriented option attack, huh? Maybe this recruit knows more than you do about the possibilties inherent in the Georgia Tech offense.

Top Dawg, You’re not too bright are you? It’s because there’s not a better offer in the Southeast and he will be wide open all day. Plus he wants to play for a winner. What would really “hurt his career” is to drop down to UGA & dwell in mediocrity.

BayBay Thomas for Tech is in the top 10 in the conference in yards so don’t think that Tech doesn’t throw the ball. They aren’t exactly Texas Tech, but when they do throw the ball, they are usually pretty successful and will use a big time WR often in the offense. Not only that, but this team is winning, and everyone wants to be a part of a winner.

It amazes me how many ignorant people there are on the blogs (mostly UGAy whiners). Maybe, just maybe they are going to Tech for 2 reasons. One is because there is a new sheriff in town who is committed to winning, and two is that they would like to obtain a degree and do something with their life in case football does not continue after college.

It is amazing to think that these high school kids would be thinking about their future after sports. That just goes to show you what kind of individual they are.

Agreed. Bebe is the only receiver on our roster this year who has shown that he can consistently beat the man coverage opponents have to play since they are so busy stopping the option.

Imagine having 6’4 Bebe at one spot and 6’4 4.4 40 Stephen Hill at the other.

Also, WRs have to run block in the NFL too.

Mr Hill is a very good high school player but his numbers don’t add up to being a DAWG! He has a 3.4 gpa and no arrest yet and he’s already 18 years old! You can never fully develop into the kind of hotdogging (even when you’re down 42-3, lol) thug we expect, he won’t even have to go to a “prep school”, Tech and Vandy can fight over him.

wooo hooo Calvin went second in the Draft

Hey tech d-bags he still plays for the worst team in the NFL, much like his time at Yech.

When was the last time you had a receiver win Super Bowl MVP? Never As the bigot PeePee on a dog at the top said Hines is the MOST COMPLETE receiver in the NFL and a dog that played QB, RB, and WR.

How many Yech players have won a Super Bowl in the past five years? ONE, James Butler How ‘bout UGA players? SIX

Oh and when was the last time Yech beat UGA? EIGHT YEARS AGO!!!!!!

Jealousy is definitely not our strong suit but it fits Yech like a glove!

Looking forward to #8 on Nov. 29….

I feel sorry for UGA fans. They really thought the had a good team. Good teams don’t lose 49-10.

Not to mention the gutting that Alabama gave them when they were all so worried about what to wear to the game.

And now they all feel so bad about themselves that they feel the need to put down a Tech recruit. Taking it out on a high school boy. What sad cowardice.

Man, what a horrible, disappointing year for UGA fans. 49-10. Ouch.

Tech is not Florida. Losers love to live vicariously through others.

Now let this UGA grad give a tech loser a math lesson! Georgia Tech’s last win vs. UGA was 11-25-2000. This year’s game will be played on 11-29-2008. If you take the this years date and, here is a word for you, subtract the date of tech’s last win, the result would be eight years and four days.

I AM looking forward to the Dawgs making it Eight In A Row this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, UGA measures success by having another 10 win season under Mark Richt.

Whipping your pathetic team every year is always the cherry on top. This year will not be ANY different & we have two weeks to prepare for PJ’s antiquated schemes.

Come and talk smack about UGA when you have some sort of real ammo rather than “inbreds meck’s” (whatever that means), until then its still SEVEN IN A ROW!

There must be a lot of “thugs” as you say, in colleges across the nation. Underage drinking is right next to murder in the eyes of the law and in the ten commandments. Oh and Tech still has not beat UGA since 2000.

You don’t have to define any words for me. Maybe you could give ChattHills Jacket a simple arithmetic lesson. I thought math is what you nerds were good at!

Yep I’m clever. Thanks.

Well those three national championships from the first half of the 1900’s sure are impressive and totally irrelevant to the current streak,

And the people in Boulder, CO and the AP would like to inform you that Colorado was the real national champion in 1990.

National Championships from the 1910’s don’t measure success in the series, but here is something that does.

GEORGIA-GEORGIA TECH ALL TIME RECORD GEORGIA-59 WINS YECH-36 WINS

oh and tech has not beat UGA since 2000. Do you losers understand those numbers? Tech has not beat Georgia THIS decade! By those two account UGA most definitely owns Tech.

Please give GT credit for HELPING you to the National Championship in “80” after Notre Dame had to tie us and helped you get into the S*R BOWL. See I can spell sugar without UGA. HAHAHAHAHA. Congrats Stephen! I’m really proud of him and excitied about his commitment to GA Tech. They have a great football team but more importantly he will recieve a great education. Instead of everyone arguing about whether Tech or Georgia is a better team, we should be congratulating him and wishing him the best. There are so many young men that are doing nothing with their lives or getting in trouble, but Stephen is excelling and going against the norm. Kudos to his parents, Karen & Doc, for raising him right and I pray that he will stay healthy and continue to make the right decisions.
