UGA is the frontrunner to lure away Clemson recruit J.K. Jay

Georgia has inside position on luring away a Clemson commitment, offensive lineman J.K. Jay of Greenville, S.C., according to GoGamecocks.
The 6-foot-7, 275-pound Kay told the website that he talked last week with Georgia coach Mark Richt, was offered a scholarship, and is setting up an official visit with the Bulldogs.
However, Georgia fans should not get too excited just yet: Kay also told the website he will sign with Clemson if the team’s current coaching staff, led by Dabo Swinney, is retained. Then, if only to make things a little more confusing, Clemson’s coaching decision will have to come by early December because Kay is graduating early from Christ Church and will enroll in college in January.
“If they don’t retain coach Swinney, that would be a difficult situation,” Kay said. “Georgia would be the front runner. They are number two right now. I’m going to try to make it to Georgia as soon as possible.”
Since Kay announced he was looking at other colleges last week, he was offered by South Carolina, Miami, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. He is hearing from many other schools, including Florida and Alabama.
Clemson has lost four commitments since coach Tommy Bowden departed last month.

Stacy Searels at Georgia might be the best offensive line coach in the country. That might be a factor too. Georgia has continuity and stability among the coaching staff. At Georgia you have solid coaches all across the board that care about the players — also a big factor.

It would be great to have another top-flight lineman enrolling at UGA. I really think we need a few more in this class. Injuries are taking a toll and we have lost a few from recent classes.

Yea, UGA has an over-powering front line again. The UGA people have no concept of who and what their football program is.
Get a grip guys, last weeks score was not a mistake. UGA has a sub-par front line again and will continue to struggle there as well as all of the places they struggle year after year. CMR the best 10 win coach in the country… Oh yea, it takes 12 or thirteen.

UGA’s struggles fthis year steems from a lack of production on both lines. We are to soft and small on the offensive lines and too undisciplined and weak on the defensive line. We have the skill position players to compete with everyone else.
