The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Southwest DeKalb wide receiver Jacoby Mitchell picked up an offer from Alabama-Birmingham last week, but admitted Sunday that his mind hasn’t exactly been on college recruiting after Southwest lost its second straight close game in Region 6-AAAA.
The Panthers lost 10-7 Saturday to Tucker dropping them to the region’s third playoff seed. The previous week, SWD lost 27-21 to Marist.
“It’s been tough,” he said just before Sunday afternoon film study for the regular-season finale against Stone Mountain. “I’m upset about the loss to Tucker last night.”
Mitchell, who also has been offered by Western Carolina, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Middle Tennessee and Akron. He plans a visit this weekend to Middle Tennessee, which celebrates its homecoming on Saturday.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! No disrespect Mitchell, but this is a ‘sad’ scholarship offer for the once proud SWD program!
