UGA recruit Rantavious Wooten didn’t make LSU visit

UGA coaches and fans can feel a lot better about the commitment of wide receiver Rantavious Woote of Belle Glade, Fla.

There were rumors that Wooten might go ahead and take his official visit to LSU on Saturday for the Georgia game. However, Wooten confirmed to the AJC that he did not make it to LSU, and that he remains committed to UGA.

The 5-foot-10, 158-pound Wooten switched his commitment from LSU to UGA last week, but has been very low key about switch, which has fueled speculation that he may change his mind again in the future.

It’s too bad he didn’t go. He could have gotten to see how half of the LSU fans left way before the end of the game. (I was there, and it was quite an amazing thing to own Tiger Stadium like we did.) The Dawgs fans traveled well and were loud and supportive. Go Dawgs!!! It would have been a net benefit for UGA if Wooten had traveled to see Saturday’s display.

Good point, Top Dawg. During the Alabama game, I appreciated the TV announcers pointing out how the Dawg fans stuck around even when the team was down 31.

Another place where you’d better not be standing in front of the exit when the home team gets down is at Auburn. You’ll get run over. Mr. Woote, we would love to have you as a Bulldog.

I think Wooten is going to be a great talent when he puts some muscle on that small frame of his. I watched video of this guy and he can take snaps and run a spread formation and he has blazing speed. With he and AJ along with Trioup and Moore, I think the receiver position is probably one of Georgia’s strongest along with running back. They need to make sure the offensive lineman stay healthy next year and Georgia will primed for making a national champioship run. We will see.
