Florida trying to lure away Auburn recruit Lutzenkirchen

Lassiter tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen wanted to explore his options. And he’ll be doing that this weekend, by watching Florida’s game against Kentucky on Saturday.

Lutzenkirchen remains firmly committed to Auburn, but after the recent firing of Tiger offensive coordinator Tony Franklin, the 6-foot-4, 241 pounder decided to at least listen to other offers.

Lutzenkirchen’s father, Mike, said he and his son will travel to see the Gators play Kentucky on Saturday. Both Texas Tech and South Carolina have made offers since Franklin’s firing. Tennessee has been in touch, and Michigan called Lutzenkirchen this week.

The Trojan senior is a member of the AJC’s The Georgia Top 150. He said recently that he’ll wait to see who the Tigers hire before making any decisions.
