The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Heritage’s Melvin Jones will take his first visits in the next three weeks.
Jones will travel to Alabama State on Nov. 8 and to Presbyterian on Nov. 15.
Presbyterian, in Clinton, S.C., is “highly interested” in the 6-foot-1, 310-pound defensive tackle, he said.
“They just started recruiting me after they saw my highlight,” Jones said. “They were impressed with my size and that I could move very good laterally.”
Jones has yet to receive an offer, but Middle Tennessee, Louisville, Memphis, Central Florida and Auburn have expressed interest. Jones said he wouldn’t necessarily be drawn by the lure of a bigger program.
“Whichever school I feel the most comfortable with, that’s the one I’m going to pick,” said Jones, who plans on majoring in business administration. “It’s not all about being an athlete. If it’s a good academic program, more than likely I’m going to like it.”
