Florida State offers Northview junior DT Denzel McCoy

Northview junior defensive tackle Denzel McCoy added to his impressive lineup of scholarship offers on Monday after receiving a call from Florida State.

“It was very exciting to hear that Florida State had offered,” said McCoy, who has offers from Alabama, Duke, Georgia Tech, LSU, Memphis, North Carolina, N.C. State, Oregon, Penn State, Stanford, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

“Florida State is a great school and Tallahassee is a fun area.”

McCoy plans to visit FSU next month when the Seminoles host Florida.

“I like [FSU] defensive line coach [Odell] Haggins,” McCoy said. “We talked a lot Monday night. One thing he wants to develop during the [recruiting] process is trust.

“And I feel that trust will be a big factor in this process. He’s a great guy to talk to. I look forward to meeting him.”

McCoy will attend Tech’s homecoming game against Virginia on Saturday.

Denzel, coming to Tech, you would have a good chance to start early. Take a look at the depth charts, we are losing our Top 3 DTs on the line this year to graduation.

Denzel,

As a Florida State Alum and former football fan, don’t waste your time. Go to a school that recruits people who have actually played football and can actually do something very rare these days in Tallahassee…..WIN!!!! If this was 1998, I would tell you to pack up for Tallahassee, but until FSU starts winning games like they did when I was a student there back in the early 1990’s, you should not waste your time. ANY team that can get shut out by a worthless team like Wake Forest 30-0 AT HOME, doesn’t deserve a fine athlete like yourself.

Going to FSU would be a great decision. FSU is ranked 3rd in the entire Country in total defense. Mickey Andrews is a defensive genius; and has always coached top defenses. Dont forget that FSU sends players to the next level; Since 2000 FSU has had 13 players drafted in the 1st round—2nd most in the country. FSU has approximately 41 players right now on NFL rosters (a definate top 5 number).

From a recruit standpoint FSU provides an excellent opportunity to get playing time early. This year FSU was able to get true freshman (moses mccray and everette dawkins) some experience and playtime on the DL and next year will be no different. FSU has also recruited very strongly on the DL this year and will be a top 5 defense again because of the combination of great coaching and great recruits. If Denzel McCoy wants to 1)go to a program that still consistently puts players in the NFL, 2) Get early Playing Time, 3) Play for experienced and knowledgeable coaches,4) play for a team known to always have a good defense 5) be a student at a beautiful campus with beautiful college girls, and 6)be a part of the “MAC Attack” which will be one of the best defensive lines in the country along with jacobbi McDaniel, Demonte McAllister, Moses McCray, and possible addition of Amp McCloud then come to FSU. Seminole fans will be looking forward to hearing your name in the future. Also Good luck on the rest of your season Denzel. ~FSU

yo fake FSU Grad. We know you are not a real FSU grad or fan. Probably a gator. We are 5 and 1. No matter how bad you wish it not to be, the seminoles are coming and coming strong. Me still might lose a game or two this year but this team is loading up on talent and we have GREAT coaches so get used to the idea of seeing FSU at the top again because its GOING to happen. Hopefully Denzel will come and get on the train.
