Brant focused on big region games for SWD

Southwest DeKalb linebacker Brandon Brant has other things on his mind than where he’ll play in college.

With Southwest (6-1) on a six-game winning streak following its season-opening loss to M.L. King, Brant knows his most important football of the season comes the next two Fridays with Region 6-AAAA games against Marist and Tucker. The winner of this Friday’s game against Marist will be for sole possession of the region lead.

“The recruiting can wait,” he said. “Right now, I’m excited about our season.”

Brant is averaging nine tackles and one sack a game.

His offers are from Army, Appalachian State and Western Carolina. Army may be leading the way, but Brant admits he’s not sure he’s an “Army guy.” Still, he plans a visit to West Point in December or January.
