How It Went: Henry County junior WR Ambles visits UGA

Henry County junior receiver Markeith Ambles’ was among the recruiting prospects in attendance at Sanford Stadium on Saturday when Georgia defeated SEC foe Vanderbilt.

“It was nice,” Ambles said. “I got to talk to the coaches before the game on the sidelines. I watched the game, talked to the coaches again afterwards, then came back home.”

One of the highlights was sitting in the student section.

“I sat in the recruiting section at first, but I was able to go over to the student section a little while,” he said. “I wound up going back over to the recruiting section.

“I just wanted to see how the student section would be. It was crazy.”

Ambles, who already has scholarship offers from programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and South Carolina, was told by Georgia coaches to send his film and they will continue to evaluate him.

He hopes an offer from Georgia materializes, but he’s taking everything in stride.

“I’ve got a lot of schools that have already offered me,” he said. “So I’m just liking whoever is liking me.”

Ambles, you know UGA is gonna start showing you the love before too long. Its a matter of time. I know it would be awesome for you to represent your state in front of your family and playing for championships.

Georgia’s future at the WR position is AJ Green and Tavarres King. As we all know… those two aren’t enough. We need a 3rd threat.

Looking at the “post Stafford” QB situation, you are talking about Logan Gray, Aaron Murray and Zach Mettenberger… think about it… whichever guy emerges from those three will obviously be a beast of a leader.. and he’s gonna need targets.

My friend, as AJ is showing this year, you will get touches at UGA if you come in and work. They will offer, and when they do - get it while you can.

Mark Richt is 79-19 with Georgia.

79…. and 19.

maybe 2 coaches can touch that right now…

Look Georgiatwo targets at wideout are Marlon Brown and Rontavious Wooten and rightully so. These guys are instant impact receivers just like A.J Green. They will get one of those guys and that will be it at the receiver position. We need offensive and defensive lineman. After watching Evans in te secondary, corner is a major need as well. If I had 2 scholarships left, I give one to Marlon Brown, and the other to Branden Smith the corner from Booker T Washington. I am sure those other guys will make great receivers and are good young men.
