How It Went: Clemson recruit Corico Hawkins meets with Dabo Swinney

Baldwin linebacker and Georgia’s only Clemson commit Corico Hawkins attended the Clemson-Georgia Tech Saturday afternoon.
Hawkins met with Clemson interim coach Dabo Swinney, who was promoted after Tommy Bowden stepped down last week.
“He had a good time,” Baldwin coach Jesse Hicks said. “He talked to [Swinney] and some of the assistants and they just told him to stick with the program.”
Hicks said he saw Clemson recruit Malliciah Goodman, a defensive end from Florence, S.C. at the game as well. Hawkins talked to several of the prospects who remain committed to the Tigers.
“Most of the kids had been up there before,” Hicks said. “Everyone seemed to be laid back and enjoying the game.”
South Carolina and N.C. State contacted Hawkins last week, but he remains loyal to Clemson.

I have seen this kid play, and he leads a team that has given up - get this - 17 points…. in 7 games….TOTAL.
I wish him well in whatever he chooses, but seeing as how UGA churns out NFL Linebackers, and he IS a Georgia boy…. I’m just sayin…. Good luck Corico.

He’s probably one of those guys who could go anywhere and end up in the NFL, but d@mn 17 points in 7 games? Even if they were blowouts with the subs in, that’s good D.
