Tech recruit Finch catches fish over catching game

Many of Georgia Tech’s class of 2009 commitments, including Kennesaw Mountain offensive lineman Jay Finch, passed on the Jackets’ home game against Gardner-Webb last weekend.

Finch fished at a local lake while the Jackets sweated out a 10-7 victory.

“I’m definitely a big-time fisherman,” said Finch, who is considered the 39th-best guard in the nation by Scout.com. “On the weekends, sometimes I’ll go out on Saturday morning and go pond-hopping. There are a lot of good ponds and a lot of good fishing around here.”

Finch will forego visiting his favorite fishing hole on Oct. 25 to travel to Bobby Dodd Stadium to watch the Jackets host Virginia.

Catch the big fish for me Jay and come on down to Tech. Have a good week and look forward to seeing you in stands next Saturday. Go Jackets!
