Total yards gained by Sprayberry’s David Carter (103 rushing on 10 carries and 101 receiving on four catches) in the Yellow Jackets’ 50-7 victory against Osborne. Carter, a member of the AJC’s The Georgia 150, talked with staff writer Jay Stone about his game.
— Best game? “My freshman year I think I ran for 268 yards against [Osborne]. I had 214 against Centennial. I had fun doing both. I like being a factor in both the running and passing games.”
— Favorite play? “When I caught a pass for 84 yards. It was a wheel route. I was lined up as a back and motioned out as a receiver and caught a long pass.”
— Need more touches? “It’s not that important. As long as we’re winning, it doesn’t really matter. I have to split carries with our quarterback.”
— Two-way threat? “I know a lot of colleges I’ve talked to say they want a diverse back who can do everything, so I think that helps.”

Tremendous kid with good grades and a great attitude. I Coached him in baseball at East Cobb and he would be a credit to whatever university he chooses. He will also be a D-1 level baseball prospect this Spring.
