Carver-Columbus OL Chris Hubbard leaving for UCLA trip

Carver-Columbus offensive lineman Chris Hubbard is off to Pasadena this weekend to watch UCLA battle Washington State.
“He is going to check out the scene, look at the campus and see what they have to offer academically,” head coach Dell McGee said. “He needs to see if UCLA is a good fit for Chris.”
“It’s going to be a great experience for Chris, He won’t be able to tell over the weekend, but it will help him decide if he wants to be that far away from his home and his family.”
Hubbard, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound member of the AJC’s The Georgia 150, has received offers from UCLA, Duke, UAB, Mississippi State and Troy.
McGee said if Hubbard develops a relationship with the coaches and players, he could see Hubbard attending UCLA next fall.
“Anything is possible,” he said. “It’s a great school and a great conference. It’s good to get out of your hometown and experience what college life has to offer. And it’s not always all about football.”

Hello, I want to go on record and say that Chris has the personality of a Dean Martin off the play of ball, and a Jack Lambert on the grid-iron. Coach David Cutcliff of Duke told his coaching staff “If you go out and recruit me kids like Hubbard, we can not loose as a team.” Chris has narrowed his choices down to UCLA, Florida, South Florida, Duke, Mississippi State, and South Carolina. He says he is still considering Miami as well.
