Mettenberger rallies Oconee County as UGA coach Bobo watches

Georgia-bound quarterback Zach Mettenberger insists he was playing his normal game Friday night when he tossed four second-half touchdowns to lead Oconee County past Franklin County 27-26.
But his heroics occurred with Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo in attendance at Warrior Stadium.
“It wasn’t anything different than just playing in front of our home fans,” said Mettenberger, an AJC’s The Georgia Top 150 selection.
“I didn’t really put any extra pressure on myself.”
Mettenberger will now turn his attention to tonight’s SEC showdown between Alabama and Georgia in Athens.
“I plan on getting over there around 4:30 p.m.,” said Mettenberger, who lives about 10 miles from Sanford Stadium. “I plan on hanging out with [Georgia commits] Aaron Murray and Chase Vasser.”
Mettenberger wouldn’t make a prediction on whether the Dogs will secure additional commitments today.
“I really don’t know,” he said. “I think it all depends on how Georgia plays. And some of them are coming here for the first time.
“I think they’ll really look at the atmosphere and the coaching staff.”

I think Mett ends up being the starter in 3 years and not Murray. Hopefully Mett gets a fair shot at the opportunity.

I agree JP….somewhat. I do think Mett will end up being a strong contender for the position. Either way we are loaded at QB for a while.

Yeah…Murray is no good, that’s why he won the Elite 11 competition where he competed against the best QBs in the country and came out on top.
