Basketball: Derrick Favors, nation’s No. 1 prospect, about to eliminate one finalist

South Atlanta’s Derrick Favors, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 basketball prospect by Scout, is expected to eliminate one school for his list of seven finalists by the end of the week, according to his coach.

The 6-foot-9 Favors is making an official visit to Georgia Tech this weekend, after taking a recruiting trip to Georgia two weeks ago. He has yet to schedule any other visits among his remaining finalists of Kentucky, Memphis, Florida State, N.C. State, and Connecticut.

“We hoping for Derrick to have a decision ready by the early signing period,” South Atlanta’s Michael Reddick said. “We’re hoping he can eliminate one school later this week, and then get down to five in about three weeks.”

Question to you: Which college do you think Favors will eliminate first? And why?
