Basketball: Fayette County star Johnson commits to Southern Cal

Fayette County wing man Noel Johnson, rated one of the top 50 basketball prospects in the country by most recruiting services, committed to Southern Cal this morning, according to his coach, Andre Flynn.

Johnson’s other finalists were Georgia Tech and Louisville.

The 6-foot-7 Johnson led Fayette County to the Class AAAA championship game last season and averaged 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, Flynn said. Johnson is rated the No. 7 shooting guard nationally by Rivals.com and the No. 11 small forward by Scout.com.

“What sets him apart is he’s a very skilled player with a basketball IQ that’s real high for a person who’s 6-7,” Flynn said. “A lot of people can score and can rebound, but he can handle the ball extremely well and can shoot the lights out.”

Johnson is the son of former NBA and Wichita State player Lynbert “Cheese” Johnson.

He’s one of the most overrated players in the country. He’s lucky to have the ranking that he does.

Good Luck young MAN and make your mom proud. Keep your head in the books or just leave the college game after a year. You are in the MARKET YOURSELF game of BBALL so do your best and get the JACK to keep your HOOD BROS in the STYLE they want to be accustom to or get a degree and class. You and only you look in the mirror as you shave and have to look into your own eyes. MAKE MOM PROUD and that ain’t no BLACKED OUT SUV and a MANSION. It is a SON that she is proud of for doing what she raised you do.

Best of luck to Noel. He has worked relentlously to get where he is and with that, deserves the best. He has made a fantastic selection. Skeptics, will be skeptics and will remain behind the velvet ropes as naysayers always do.

DO YOU NOEL!
