Newnan safety Alec Ogletree, who is the leading candidate to be the state’s top prospect for 2010, hinted that Miami is his early favorite.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Ogletree said Clemson was his first offer last summer. He then got scholarship letters from Georgia, LSU, Miami, South Carolina, Florida, Florida State and South Carolina, among others.
However, Ogletree admitted the offer from Miami stood out from the others.
“It’s just that Miami was my team [growing up],” Ogletree said. “It was always my dream when I was younger to play for Miami, so it’s kind of hard believing that I finally got offered by them. It’s like my dream came true.”
Ogletree said wanted to try to visit as many colleges as possible before announcing a final choice.

Alec, nevermind that offer from Miami. Its the Dawgs you want to represent. Too far for family to travel. Look at the hard hitting safeties that have been at UGA. Carry on the tradition.

Alec,THE U is where you want to be,look at the recent commits that have been going to Miami and be appart of the historic players that have played there, ask Ed Reed,Kenny Phillips,(RIP)Sean Taylor and the many other 1st rounders that have come through the factory,Coach Randy Shannon knows what it takes, what better mentor to have than Jimmy Johnson.

Cane4life…You mentioned many things about Miami in your reply, not any of them have to do with academics and a degree. Alec, pay attention. It is not always what you hear but what you don’t hear that matters most. Good luck.
