Tucker’s Jonathan Davis, who is perhaps the state’s top overall player, was offered by Boston College on Wednesday.
The ACC school has maintained contact with Davis since the spring but recently intensified its recruiting efforts for the two-way star.
“They really want me at running back, and told me that I would have the opportunity to contribute immediately as a freshman,” Davis said.
The 5-foot-8, 205-pound Davis is being recruited at both tailback and linebacker by colleges. He nearly committed to Georgia Tech last week, and also holds offers from South Carolina, Central Florida, Louisville, Alabama-Birmingham and Oklahoma State.

” perhaps the states TOP overall player”… i agree totally. the kid can flat out get it done on the feild in every aspect of the game. UGA and GT both need to try and keep J.Davis in state. he is alot like a Rennie Curran heat-seeking-missle,,, with the motor of Knowshon,,, but he blocks better than Knowshon. Wherever he ends up in college,,, he’ll make the startin squad in his freshman year. Good Luck to ya JD. STUDY,, STUDY,,STUDY,,STUDY. Prove all doubters wrong. And remember it’s cool to be humble.
