Stephenson’s Gilbert interested in walking on at UGA

Stephenson quarterback Carisseion “CC” Gilbert, projected as a running back/kick returner in college, says he has an interest in walking on at Georgia.

The 5-foot-7, 180-pound senior, who has an offer from UAB, said the feeling was mutual. “Georgia has been talking to me about using me as an all-around athlete,” said Gilbert. “I’m very interested in going there. … maybe get to special teams and work my way up.”

Gilbert said Mississippi State also is interested, but no offer has been made.

Gilbert said he told UAB he had an interest in walking on at Georgia. He said he is still leaning toward committing to the UAB scholarship.

Gilbert has led a Stephenson offense that has scored 64 points in two shutouts. Stephenson (2-0) plays at Ware County Friday. Gilbert has completed 7 of 16 passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns in two games.

I just hope it’s not too hot for Mark and his boys out in Arizona. It would be a shame if they lost the game because they couldn’t handle a 90 degree temperature. Maybe while they are out there they can shop around for a conditioning coach.

If dawgs don’t develope a pass rush it’s going to be plenty hot. Last year they turned it around with “a pass rush”, remember. A zone defense lets your best players sit around and wait. BS

We need to make a statement and crush ‘em. I want to see us dominate like we did against Hawaii. I want to shut Gregg Doyel’s mouth. GO DAWGS!

Mr. Gilbert, why would you walk on at UGA when you have scholarship offers? A scholarship means that yiu will attend school FREE.

Why consider UGA if they don’t think enough of you to offer a scholarship?
