Wake Forest commitment Cross continues to impress

Chattahoochee quarterback Brendan Cross, a Wake Forest commitment, continues to pile up passing yardage and impress Cougars coach Terry Crowder.

Cross threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns in the Cougars’ 51-49 season-opening loss to Milton, then added 223 yards and his fourth touchdown, 37 yards to Hunter Thomas, in last week’s 49-12 loss to Parkview.

Although the Cougars are winless entering Friday’s Region 7-AAAAA opener at home against Collins Hill, Crowder raved about his 6-foot-2, 198-pound quarterback, who has 501 yards and four touchdowns passing in two games.

“”He’s shown he can play major college football,” Crowder said.
