Norcross tailback Adams focused on Maryland despite contact from other schools

Norcross tailback D.J. Adams has five opportunities to take official visits this fall, but he’ll only need one. The Maryland commitment plans on visiting the Terrapins and only the Terrapins sometime during the season.

That doesn’t mean other schools aren’t still trying to get his attention.

“I get a lot of calls from schools all over still,” said Adams, a 5-foot-10, 212-pound back. “But it’s not as heavy. That was my goal in committing early.”

Adams built several close relationships with coaches from Clemson, Auburn and other schools. The calls still come, but the conversations have changed.

“I think they’re just checking up on me,” Adams said. “We talk, you know, just on a personal level. I like that because you do spend a lot time talking to different coaches through the process.”

Adams is a member of the AJC’s The Super Southern 100.

I’ve seen Norcross play and it seems as though their Sr. QB Charles King is carrying the team. maybe all these early committs are good for the athlete and bad for the team.
