Nico Johnson to watch Alabama at Georgia Dome

Andalusia, Ala., linebacker Nico Johnson, one of the country’s top uncommitted players, told the AJC he plans at watch Alabama play Clemson at the Georgia Dome on Saturday night.

Johnson, a member of the AJC’s The Super Southern 100, said he is going with friends to the game. Neither Alabama or Clemson are allowed to provide recruiting tickets because it’s being played at a neutral site.

Johnson denied he is leaning heavily toward Alabama, saying he has no favorites. However, the only summer camp Johnson attended was at Alabama, and watching the Crimson Tide on Saturday night will be his first college game of the year.

Something else playing in Alabama’s favor is that it has no commitments at linebacker yet, while other competing schools such as Auburn has five and Georgia has three.
