Alexander’s Mitchell backs off UGA comments, says he’s “100-percent” with Kentucky

Alexander offensive lineman Kevin Mitchell plays in a uniform that looks like Georgia’s. His mother was born in Athens. And his grandfather still lives there.
And even though he grew up rooting for Georgia, Mitchell wants to make it clear that his blood now runs Kentucky blue. He wants to clarify things a few days after publicly stating he was still interested in the Bulldogs, if they called.
Mitchell, a member of the AJC’s The Georgia Top 150, verbally committed to the Wildcats earlier this summer after receiving offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana and Oregon. Last week he commented that he might listen if an offer came from Georgia. Evidently, Mitchell’s affectionate words for the Bulldogs caused quite a stir.
Now Mitchell has reserved direction, backing away from those comments and saying he is “100 percent committed to Kentucky.”
In fact, he said he will not attend the Wildcats’ season-opener next weekend because it is at Louisville.
“[Louisville] offered me too, so if I went there for the game, it might cause all kinds of confusion,” Mitchell said. “I’m only planning on going to games that are in Lexington, and right now I don’t plan on taking any official visits anywhere else. Kentucky is the best fit for me.”

South Carolina chases hard after Mill Creek DE Robinson
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Mill Creek defensive end Ryan Robinson said South Carolina is trying its best to land a commitment before the start of his senior year.
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound Robinson said he has listened to several intense recruiting pitches by Gamecocks assistant Shane Beamer.
“I like South Carolina,” Robinson said. “Coach Beamer just keeps telling me great things about the program and how great it would be to have me be a part of it. But I’m trying my best not to rush into anything. I want to go to some games at South Carolina and other places. I’ll probably make my decision in December or January.”
Robinson, a member of the AJC’s The Georgia Top 150, has a family connection to South Carolina. His uncle, Gus Robinson, played for the Gamecocks.
Robinson also has offers from North Carolina, Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee State. He is also being scouted heavily by Auburn.
