Carver RB Demond Dennis favors Auburn
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
Tailback Demond Dennis of Atlanta’s Carver High said he is favoring Auburn over several other college choices.
The 5-foot-10, 193-pound Dennis, a member of the AJC’s The Georgia 150, said he wants to take official visits to Auburn, Louisville and Alabama-Birmingham. He is also considering a trip to Illinois. Dennis said some of his other offers are from Alabama, Central Florida, East Carolina, Miami of Ohio and Western Kentucky.
“I really like Auburn because they run the same offense we do, and they send a lot of running backs to the next level [NFL],” Dennis said.
Dennis plays in the shadows of Carver teammate Darren Myles, who is one of the nation’s top safety prospects.

I’m pretty sure AU’s done taking RB’s for this recruiting class. Even with Rodney Scott not being a certain commit, they’re happy with who they have. Of course, I’m not in charge of that, so I could be wrong.

If he thinks he wants to go there, he should go ahead and commit or risk losing his spot. This is the first year of the new recruiting style where you better commit early or risk losing the offer. Good luck Dennis and War Eagle!

All i know is that the score board don’t lie. The score was 40 to 6 when the game was over.Damond Dennis may have had forty yard the entire game!!!An to say he’s better than Reginald Bryant of Cairo is a flat out LIE!The schedule that Carver ATL. play our JV can beat that and there’s Darren Myles he couldn’t even tackle our #17 Angleo Pease or #20 Reginald Bryant who had 1600 yd rushing and 28 tds let’s not forget about #21 Ronnie Wooten. Now again Mr.Paddy my point is we’re talking about the thrid round of the state playoffs and a team that is 11-0 coming into the game and Cairo beat them 46-6 now you tell me who ever rank the players such as Demond Dennis and Darren Myles they need to come to Cairo and see some real players thank you syrupmakers

I do think both players are indeed overrated. That being said…The fact is though that up until 2 seasons ago, Carver won maybe 2-3 games a season. They have no players other than these two players. The coaches aren’t good at all either. Cairo has a lot better program and tradition. That is why Carver got drilled.
These two players carried their team, and when they go to the camps for scout.com and rivals.com, they look better and have better measurables then players from better programs.
Ive played against both of them and they are really good, but Myles doesn’t seem like a top 10 safety in the country to me…

these players carried there team to a 11 and 0 season until ran up aginst cairo.taht being said the big time players show up in the big time games and they didn’t. you don’t play the game at the camp you play game on the field. Demond Dennis and Darren Myles aren’t the player that AJC is making them. they need to come down south to cairo and see Reginald Byrant/Angleo Pease/Ronnie Wooten.now you can’t tell me that those guys are better then these guys they do it on the field and in the camps. PS… YOU IS RIGHT DARREN MYLES IS NOT THE TOP 10 PLAYER IN THE COUNTY HE ISN’T CLOSE SAME GO FOR DAMOND YOU CAN’T TELL HE’S BETTER REGINALD BYRANT??? AKA JAM

syrupmaker….my point was about composition, style and syntax not any players ability or lack thereof. I am sure all the players listed in this blog are formidable in their own unique way. To decry any athlete is to show a lack of appreciation for what they do on any given Friday night. To comprehend the written word is important to continue to advance in college or in the real world.

Syrupmakers, are you all going to be featured on EspnU on the 29th? At the end of the day, you didn’t win state either. If things turn out the same this year, we’ll see you again in the 3rd round. What’s probably going to happen is we’ll beat you all, then everyone will say you weren’t that good anyway because we beat you.
Both of them are great players, and we have many good players on this team. No one carried us anywhere, and the coaching staff is one of the best in the state. Obviously whomever ranked Demond and Darren also saw Bryant and Pease and was not as impressed. Watch us on the 29th if you syrupmakers can get it on cable. Otherwise stick to your tractor pulls.

All i no is we beat carver atl so bad they had to go to the mercy rule.If you no what that is???thats when teams is beating you by 21 points or better and we beat you by 5tds.and that being said don’t forget that’s the third round of the state playoff two game away from the state game.
P.S. CAIRO JV WILL BEAT CARVER ATL.

syrupmakers…Maybe you should re-read Big MOO. I don’t seem to be getting thru to you. It is not about the players. It is not about the games and the scores. It is not about whom can beat whom. Either you can’t read or you can’t comprehend what you read. I give up. At least I tried. Big MOO, your turn.

Bottom line is this. Carver has a staff that will get Demond, Darren, and anyone else that comes to practice every day into COLLEGE. Cairo can go ahead and keep recruiting players like Angelo Pease who lives in Gadsden County, FL, to draw the local crowd on friday nights and boost school budgets with the gate fare. Unfortunately, at the end of the day he will probably just end up graduating with a vocational degree that leaves him ineligible for college. Maybe after workin in the sorgum cane fields all week he might get to sit in the Jim Crow section of the stands behind the end zone and cheer on the next generation of exploited black athletes. I’m glad DeRon Furr and Jarmon Fortson went down there and did y’all like R. Kelly on your own field. How’d it feel watchin them celebrate?

If you only had 35 people in the stands that by it self sould tell you something. And that being said if we had to come(cairo)to the ATL. we are going to bring the whole city. You must don’t no about syrupmaker pride.Montae what am trying to say is that Demond and Darren are good in there on way.BUT???I don’t think carver atl can play in this league down here in 1-AAA. Because when you get beat 46-6 in the third round and you are 11-0 that it self sould tell you something MAYBE YOU HAVEN’T BEING PLAYING NOBODY!!!!!! SYRUPMAKER

I hope much sucess to Cario, but pleaseeeeee there is life after football, the real prize is not Carver Atlanta or those great player from Cario, can you do the Academics, don’t trip. Cario have great players, but colleges do not an will not recruit player with low IQs, think about it…If you have 15 D-1 players at Cario why colleges are not calling or recuriting????? Learn to Read and Write. If the only thing someone can say about you is that you are a hell of a football player, that a sign you may be on your way to the dumb, dumb, house. Carver Atl, have sent more playes to colleges in the last 3 years, than Cario have in the last 10 year. don’t be a dumb bo.

I think that coach Miles is an outstanding coach, I graduated from Carver in 1991 and we were 0-30 my last three years there. Carver is a school with a rich tradition and for the athletics department to turn around in this fashion is great.I am glad that this group of kids are ranked and getting good looks from d-1 college programs. And i was one of the thirty-five in cario. And you guys are serious about football down there because you all had the mayor at the game!!!!!!!!!! but I do agree with the other people on this blog,, football is great but an education is greater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
