North Gwinnett QB Tamburo awaits South Carolina
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

North Gwinnett quarterback Michael Tamburo said he is a finalist for an offer from South Carolina.
“If they offer me, I’m probably going to commit,” Tamburo said.
Tamburo said he has been keeping in contact with South Carolina assistants David Reaves and Shane Beamer since attending camp last month. Tamburo said that South Carolina likely will sign only one quarterback this year, and he was one of three the Gamecocks are considering.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Tamburo has offers from Tulsa, Toledo, Bowling Green, Air Force and Louisiana-Monroe. He is a member of the AJC’s Georgia Top 150

Personally Good luck. He’s talented and a very solid QB.
I hope he considers Gus Malzan and Tulsa though too and shine in that program
The danger of South Carolina is that he’ll be overlooked because of his smaller size if they find a higher profile guy willing to committ.
That being said. Tamburo will be the best QB south carolina has had in years because he actually cares about football and not partying.
Stay out of the horrible 5 points area if you go to Columbia and good luck.

South Carolina is not signing a QB this year, much less considering 3 to offer. We’ve offered two QBs this year, Aaron Murray (who committed to UGA) and Morgan Newton from Indiana who we then subsequently backed off.
Tamburo is left-handed and Spurrier prefers to coach right-handed QBs. Tamburo should move on and commit to Tulsa or somewhere else.
To T: Tamburo would be at best the 6th-best QB on roster next season, not the “best in years.” And Five Points is a great place to be.

To USC GRAD - I think you might be an dawg or tiger - USC will sign a QB this year. Why would you push a recruit to another school…unless you are one of them? USC is primed for a big year this year. GO USC GAMECOCKS!

To USC GAMECOCK: I’m not a dawg or tater. I graduated USC in 07. I follow gamecock sports (specifically recruiting) like it’s my job. You don’t know anything if you think USC is going to sign a QB this year. If you followed recruiting more than reading the horrible coverage of South Carolina on this website then you would know that.
I’m not trying to push Tamburo to another school, USC’s coaches are the ones doing that, and rightfully so, they made the decision not to offer. He’s left-handed (Spurrier likes righties). He’s a two-star prospect according to credible recruiting services. I mean look at his other offers: Tulsa, Toledo, Bowling Green, Air Force, and La-Monroe…that doesn’t really scream SEC material. I really hope you aren’t an alum with the way you represented yourself in your previous post.
You are correct about one thing though…USC is primed for a good season (8+ wins).

He reminds me a lot of Chris Leak. I’ve seen him play about 5 times. He really distributes the ball well. He is very accurate when he gets good blocking, which is most of the time. North gwinnett was outclasses up front in the championship last season. Not sure how many linemen they return, but his stock will rise if they have a good line this year.

From wht i’ve seen. He DUMPS it off to #2(or is it #22 Jared ?) anyways he dumps it off and #2 does all the work. Tamburo is over rated even with only 2 stars. Not another single offer from an SEC/ACC/Big10/Pac10,,, go to GaState dude

I’ve said it over and over, this kid with the popcorn arm is overrated. Oops!No ACC/SEC offers, not rated very high at all. 2cents was maybe joking, but he’s correct, little dude, go to Ga. State!
