Elite TE Fontaine nearly commits to UGA

Arthur Fontaine of Dartmouth, Mass., who is one of the nation’s top tight ends, said he nearly committed to Georgia during his three-day visit to Athens.

“Yeah, I thought about it for a brief moment, but I decided I needed more time to process everything,” said Fontaine, who flew home on Friday night.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Fontaine said he could make a decision as early as this week. The Bulldogs, Boston College, Virginia and Maryland are his finalists for the country’s No. 4 tight end, according to Rivals.

It was the second trip to Georgia this summer for Fontaine, who said he made the journey because he wanted to see if he felt just as good about the Bulldogs as he did during the first visit.

“It was probably even better than my first visit,” he said. “I got to watch practice and meet a lot of the players. My mom loved it down there, too. If she’s comfortable with everything, then that makes me feel good. That’s very important to me.”

Fontaine said Georgia coach Mark Richt repeated the same thing he said during his June visit - that he was the team’s No. 1 target at tight end. “I assume Georgia is telling me the truth. Either way, it wouldn’t matter to me. It’s just an honor to be recruited by the No. 1 team in the country. I feel very fortunate to be in the position I am in, and hopefully it will all work out.”

Georgia is also recruiting tight end Orson Charles of Tampa, Fla.

Another good thing about Georgia is the jail.Clarke County has a fine facility and on given weekend you will be sure to find some of your teammates for company.

If you get caught you will only have to miss a game that does not matter.Coach would never let you miss a big game because of a little partying.

If you want a longer term commitment as a rommie, though, go to Bama. Our guys stay in the clink for a few hours for doing something everyone does in college (drink before they are 21)…the Tide’s stay in for years and years AND they have all the best cut Cocaine. Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw da rock

Nice comments coming from the state where the two Universities play the NCAA probation equivalent of dueling banjos. Where on any given year, AU or UA is either serving probation or undergoing a major NCAA investigation. Has Jimmy John’s landed an attorney yet for his upcoming Cocaine trafficking charges?

Af, good for you. You are playing this just right. Work this out with your family at home with no outside pressure. Go where your heart tells you. We would love for you to be a Dawg. For your info, if CMR told you that you were the number 1 TE on his list, you can take it to the bank.

I’ld rather have 1 bad apple selling coke than have 8 players arrested and you’re only halfway through the year. And wasn’t it 7 u had arrested last year? As far as probation goes the NCAA officially has brought 2 major cases against Bama but has brought 6 major cases against UGA. Sorry beyotch but its just a fact. Deal with it. Number of arrests and number of NCAA infractions cases are the only thing u lead Bama in because we definitely lead you in everything else: national titles, SEC titles, head to head wins, overall # of wins, bowl game appearances and victories, number of 10 plus winning seasons, overall winning %. Do you like apples? How bout them apples you freaking ignoramus!

What have you done for me lately BAMA? ZILCH! I watched last years game on CSS the other night and we should have been up by 2 touchdowns instead of having to “WIN” it on our first play in overtime. This years game will make THE BEAR turn over in his grave.
Oh yeah, What does an Alabama girl say when she’s having sex—-Get off me daddy, you’re squishing my cigarettes!!!

Hey bama_12titles, tell us how did that loss to LA-Monroe feel? HAHAHAHA!

You want to talk about arrests? The cocaine thing was just the latest for you. Remember the DT who robbed 2 students at gunpoint? Or your team captain who was arrested for disorderly conduct? Dumb hilbillies should learn not to throw stones from their glass shacks.

Have fun continuing to be the Barn’s b!tch.

Also, check out the link and tell us who is leading in the Fulmer Cup standings you chode.

Dumb move. This kid should pull his head out of his rear end and go to BC. If he’s as good as advertised, he’ll make it into the NFL. If not, at least he’ll get a real education.

CMR has told both TE recruits that they’re the “#1 target”. You can find the articles on rivals and scout.

You can take THAT to the bank.
