Dogs still in the mix for Florida CB Carter

Michael Carter of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely High, the seventh-best cornerback in the nation according to Rivals.com, is considering scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, Miami, Minnesota and West Virginia.

Contacted this evening, the 5-foot-11, 165-pound defensive back said he enjoyed what he experienced during a camp at Georgia earlier this summer.

“It was real physical,” Carter said. “The coaches there will push you to the limit. That’s what I like.

“The Georgia program has great players and a good coach in Mark Richt. They are a young team that looks promising.”

Carter said he and his father plan to sit down and schedule his five official fall visits.

He anticipates committing in January at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Does Carter envision himself wearing red and black in Athens next season?

“Oh yeah, no doubt,” he said without hesitation.

Good chance there won’t be a spot at UGA still open in January.

Nice try, again you dig up non-stories that stopped being important months ago. UGA is only recruiting Branden Smith at corner right now. If you want to get some creditbility in recruiting, then call Arthur Fontaine and break his commitment story before Chad Simmons does. But good luck with that, he is undefeated in that area two years running! In fact, the last time he was beat to a commitment was when scout.com ran it before the kid wanted them too, which they used to do everytime. Also might want to try rantavious wooten, as he will be the next commit after fontaine. Unless you get some scoops, you will continue to be known as a copy and paste writer, and not a recruiting editor.

wow…Ouch…! Lame Recruiting Blog… you went for the jugular on that one. Can’t say I disagree with you. But you popped Mr. Hood right in the mouth. I’m not sure he will ever right another recruiting story.

I really don’t think going after hood is productive frankly. Michael carter is very interested in uga and right not brenden smith is wide open. We have no idea who will be that other cb. I am hoping smith, but uga hasn’t stopped recruiting carter and chad has never said that.

Regarding the coverage a suggestion artie is on campus today and visiting uga. Wooten is giving miami some looks since he just got his offer and his teammate committed there after decommitting from lsu. Those are two hot stories now.

actually henry orelus is not committed to miami, its florida state. Wooten says its lsu and uga, but he has no offer to lsu, as they are probably holding out for reuben randle or even andre dubose. which leaves wooten to…..again good luck ajc, without the budget to actually go out and scout/see players, your left to just pick up the scraps and rehash old news. It’s sad to see the company hurting, but you re like dunder mifflin from “The Office” “Pushing paper in a paperless world.”

dang bunch of recruiting snobs on here. guess what, the average fella like me that works a job and has a family doesn’t have time to track every recruits latest statement, visit, bathroom break, etc…

Excuse me his teammate is at fsu, but wooten and his teammate will be visiting miami together to check out their campus. Henry is looking at miami even with his fsu commitment. Wooten was waiting for the offer from miami and got it so we will see. Everything says UGA and he would give us a great wr prospect. We wil know aug 29th, the day he is supposed to announce who he will commit to.

Wooten had an offer from lsu, but it was a commit this weekend and lose the offer and when he didn’t commit he no longer had an offer. LSU was saving a spot for randle and believed bell would commit soon which he did early in the week.

That appears to be more info than any human could possible want about the class of ‘09. Thanks guys but just tell me when he commits to UGA. I don’t need to know what his favorite movie is and what time he likes to brush his teeth.

I have heard it through the grapevine, he is waiting until January to see if UGA’s new colors are going to be black and white stripes, or jump suit orange. Maybe if they will combine the two somehow, he’ll go ahead and commit! CMR said a decision is coming soon-

Georgia will have plenty of scholarships available as they are being traded by some for rap sheets.

I don’t want to “beat a dead horse”, but why send late and useless information on to people who want to know the latest on UGA recruiting. Not trying to kick you like others but come on man.
