Henry County QB Little looks at Georgia State

Former Georgia Tech offensive coordinator John Bond was recruiting Henry County quarterback Drew Little for the Yellow Jackets. So when Bond joined Bill Curry’s staff down the street at Georgia State, it made sense that Little would be one of the first players Bond contacted.

Little visited the campus earlier this week and met with Curry and Bond.

“I went to Georgia State and looked around at how everything was going,” said Little, who has offers from several SEC and ACC schools. “They told me it’d be a good chance to be the first recruit ever there. They’re definitely on my list. Their name’s getting out there.”

While we’re realistic of our expectations at Georgia State, people are going to be shocked how quickly we become successful and how easily we get a hold of some solid recruits. Plain and simple, we are not as difficult of a school academically as Tech and it’s so hard to get playing time at UGA that a lot of good players wont mind at all starting for 4 years, in the Dome and attend a great business school. Oh and when you’re pitching to a FCS recruit where do you want to play, Statesboro, GA or Atlanta, GA, I think Georgia State wins that battle 9 out of 10 times. Again, we will take our lumps early on but we will rise faster than anyone expects.

The 600 lb cat just got eaten by 1200 lb gorilla for trying to play in its backyard.

Ha! Now that’s funny. We play in a Dome. You play in a field. Nervous much?

That 1200 lb gorilla would’ve easily eaten the 600 lb cat years ago. Over time however, the gorilla got fat, complacent, and lazy. It should’ve moved up in weight class to fight the bigger gorillas by now but chose to stay around in their small pool known as FCS/I-AA. Now its no longer the baddest thing in their own pool anymore (when was their last national title?).

I guess we’ll all find out soon enough….
