Lifelong UGA fan sticking with East Carolina

Kyle Tudor of Lakeside High of Evans is a big Georgia fan, with his parents owning season tickets for Bulldogs games.

However, when East Carolina offered a scholarship, the 6-foot-4, 215-pounder thought it was too good of an opportunity to pass on. Tudor also had serious interest from Vanderbilt, N.C. State, and Duke, among others.

Before Tudor committed to East Carolina, he went to Georgia’s prospect camp in June. However, a strained muscle in Tudor’s back limited his participation in the workouts. Georgia’s coaches were intrigued, but not enough to offer, and Tudor went ahead and picked the Pirates a few weeks later.

“If anybody else offered, I’d hear them out, hear what they had to say,” Tudor said. “But I’m going to stick with East Carolina. I really like it there and think I have a chance to help the team out early.”

Tudor played safety for Lakeside last year, but now is expected to play linebacker after a growth spurt. He projects to play linebacker in college.

I hate it when a true Dawg-at-heart has to go play ball elsewhere. Or any kid for that matter who has “his team” all over his bedroom walls since kindergarten. Good luck Kyle!!

That’s a tough break for a guy who I’ve heard of living “right next door”. What a shame! He’d have been a helluva dawg. Consider transferring after you turn heads at East Carolina, which is a darn fine school and a great program!

The article is odd, but average at best high school players don’t get considered by Vanderbilt, NC State, Duke, ECU, UGA, “among others”.
